If you read Elisha in 2 Kings he made an appeal to God for openness and for closedness of the people around him in one of the situations he found himself in.
I know I've told you this before, but I did, and similarly, nothing happened.

The Qur'an wasn't written til nearly the 7th Century yet the Jews and the Christians were fighting infanticide way earlier.
How many babies were killed during the genocide of the Canaanites?

You already derailed. I'm just pointing out that God doesn't have an untarnished record when it comes to baby killing.

Lets be real, who has a clean baby killing record these days anyway?

"Does God Ever Speak through Cats? is a book about Christian spirituality and cats. When David Evans moved into a new house in Los Angeles, he unwittingly embarked on two strange new journeys. One involved a totally new relationship with God. The other was focused on a stray cat that was living in the backyard. To David's great surprise, he discovered that these two very different journeys were related to each other and had a lot in common. This is the book he wrote to tell that story"

Too bad God was so busy dicking around sending birds to people in developed countries that he forgot to provide food for hundreds of thousands of starving people elsewhere.

Guys, why are you laughting about his experience?
It's really personal thing. No need to be so harsh.

Re: My "sign from God" experience

People sometimes ask why it matters that people believe blatantly absurd things like the OP. if it isn't harming you, why care what someone else believes?

The problem here is this guy is making decisions about one of the biggest aspects of his life (to divorce his wife or not) based not on rational contemplation and analysis, but on whether a bird was timid or not. Now probably he is just channelling his feelings and would divorce her anyways. But to use such terrible decision making processes in such an important decision is ridiculous.

Re: My "sign from God" experience

Btw a couple years back I was doing a hiking trip and a little bird was completely unafraid when we paused for lunch came right up and hung out between my legs while I was sitting. Starting giving himself a dust bath rubbing his wings up against my legs. Was pretty cool experience, but it just goes to show that some birds ARE like that and are not afraid of humans and this is not at all remotely surprising

You were pretty close with your analysis op but it was actually the Flying Spaghetti Monster that sent you the sign.
