if i am a god, nothing can harm me, unless i want so. At the same time i am that great i am fully independent of anything that isnt born from my own will

So if i sacrifice things, habbits, social relationships, jobs etc im not intrested in it could never harm me right?

if i can sacrifice anything im not intrested in i must be god?

First try something simple, like falling off a step. If you don't hurt yourself, try two. If at any point before 6 steps you are injured, you are not a god, merely an athlete. 9 steps and you are superhuman. 10 steps you are an alcoholic. 12 steps and you are the next evolution of man. 15 and you are a god.

well that would be a pretty frigthening way to try it out. even if i cry in pain i might still be god, as it doesnt harm me in a way i am less god when i was befor. the idea of the concept is no matter how much you give away you still have more as you are infinite.

and even death might not be the end if the concept is true.

Easy one. If the RGT forum posters keep asking proof of your existence, then you are god. Sorry to say since your name hasn't come up so you probably don't make the grade, but at least it means you exist. Be proud. That's more than many posters can confidently say about themselves.

If you were a god you could jump off a 500ft cliff and not die (or at least be reincarnated or something like that, or return to your regular god form). So this would be a pretty deciding test you could do--much more so than the petty things you mentioned.

true but too much fear atm. dont need such a hardcoretest to begin with, i can get there slowly by trying more and more.

also when a god dies he just decided that he isnt intrested in his actual body anymore. not that he wants to be dead.

i could tell you a story about the gnosis, you propably never heard off. the gnosis was the oldest concurent of the catholic church and the first people who got killed as 'heretics'

there was a gnostic sect in rome, they believed god went mad as he tried to undestand himself. therfor he created the humans, to gain consciousness again.

storys of that exist plenty in the old myths.

for me a god is not someone who is allmighty and stuff, but who is eternal.

edit: a god is someone who isnt bound on shape and material, it is an essence that cant be evaporated, as it isnt bound to anything.

edit2: and what the word "allmighty" is, that is an idea of an impotent worm. a true god doesnt need might. he himself is everything he needs. and this self cant be found in his manifestations which may last 1000 years or till tommorow. he just knows he will be still nomatter what he decides to do.

No. Gods are defined by belivers not by intrisic properties of the god itself. So to be a god you need to find/make something/someone that divinely worships you.

Try setting up in a mental institution, reading up on stage magic. With enoght support should be able to work somehting out if you are really motivated.

Wasn't there a philosophy that stated that *one* could be God, who created this illusion of life out of boredom, and presented scenarios in which you (God) could live without the safety and predictability that God is accustomed to, i.e. your life in this world.

That is, everyone around you is just an illusion, they aren't actually real, the only thing that exists is you, and when you die you'll remember setting up this game and resume your life as God.

Kind of silly all-in-all, but an interesting thought experiment.

It seems to me that a workable definition of God could simply be - the mightiest being in existence. If you could fight and defeat every other being in existence all at the same time, you might have a decent claim.

Under this definition there are no atheists, so I would say try again.

With this in mind, at the end of the day the person calling the shots, the alpha male of the universe, doesn't rule by the virtue of his subjects cognitive abilities.

This leaves us with two possibilities, imo, from which to gain loyalty from his subjects. By being the best at giving them a necessary resource, or by simply being the mightiest. He would need to be mighty to the extent that if another rose up and challenged his authority while gaining the support of all the other beings, he could still put them in their place.

So practically speaking, If you call the whole universe out to challenge you, and you can't lose, you're God

how about - the mightiest being in the universe with a limitless supply of resources

maybe a little god could be - a sustained being (angel, soul)
