When you ascribe qualities to me (as an atheist) that simply aren't true, such as:

"Atheists worship science"
"Atheists hate god"
"Atheism is a belief system"
"Without god, there is no morality"
"Atheists have no reason to behave morally" (followed by, "what's stopping an atheist from raping, killing, and stealing?")

...I get insulted. DUCY?

If you still don't get it, put it this way: How would you feel if I stated that "All Iranians are terrorists" or something equally hateful? Should we tell you to "take it easy" when you become justifiably upset?

How you express your amusement is new to me. Sorry. Although I think, it is possible that some people might feel amused, when they feel hate.

What did I say equally hateful? Atheists worship science is equally hateful as all Iranians are terrorists? And about their moral behavior, I never said anything.

Nguyen, It is not easy to discuss with most of the Atheists who participate in this forum, why it is not? Example:
I think it is a pity, that there is no heavy weight Atheist, that I can discuss with him.
If this would be my claim than the Atheists (like All In Flynn, tame deuces....) would come and say, but I weigh 90 Kilo. Another one would come and say I am a heavy weight champion in Boxing. The next one would come and say, but I am a heavy weight Atheist, I believe so much in Atheism, like no one else. And about each of this replies, I had to discuss 9 to 10 sites, and they would still not understand that I mean an Atheist, who is educated in logic and Atheistic philosophy.

Just like I had to discuss with you about God=Creator under some given circumstances, and you still didn't get it.

Since you asked the same question twice, I'll answer twice. Hopefully, one thread gets locked...

Depends. If the author makes a claim that witches are real and we should behave as if they are real, and people influence my life directly or indirectly based on their beliefs in such witches, then I'll debate the evidence of the witches. If I'm with rational people who understand that the story is allegorical and intended as a life lesson and not a description of actual historical events, then I'll debate the point of the life lesson.

Unfortunately, too many fail to recognize that the story is a fairy tale and not a history book which requires acceptance of its claims, and thus the debate is shifted to explaining to people that source of their childish beliefs.

Thanks for helping to illustrate our frustration here quite well.
