It is actually very easy to generate these profound statements. The trick is to say as little as possible about the labels you use; this way you let the reader of your statements fill in his own bias. The lack of actual information will also give an air of mystery. This can make it seem like you know more about the issue than your statement infers.

Here are 5 such statements I made in about 3 minutes:
1. If the the universe is likened to a finite river, we would still see finite currents.
2. An empty room is no more an analogy for a mind than an empty box is an analogy for a gift.
3. A dam can stop water, but not the idea of water.
4. Wisdom does not build knowledge, it refines it.
5. Perception is merely the gate, you are the gatekeeper.


I have very little but contempt for such airy rhetoric. It is like staring at non-working car engine and proclaiming it to be "a figment of your life's experiences". Not exactly wrong, but really it is just a waste of words.

Not technically but we all know Dawkins likes to catch people off guard, then with his british accent and his "I'm educated and you're an idiot" type of demeanor he tries to make you sound silly.

I'm sure he also thinks Deepak is a charlatan and intended on proving this point. Only problem is that Deepak is well educated, well spoken, and isn't easily stumped, so in that regard Dawkins failed pretty miserably.

Although Richard Dawkins can seem foolish at times, here he just made good inquiries.

I always felt that Dawkins doesn't get enough respect, sure he's held some questionable stances, but a lot of that is for press. I thought his best work was in The Selfish Gene, where he articulated some very poignant things.

As a Christian, I don't agree with him fundamentally, but he's alright in my books. Minus the alien talk.
