At first I thought the article had peaked when I read that he already has a private jet, but then I read:

Multiple attempts to reach Dollar through prayer proved unsuccessful.

A few years ago when some congressmen tried to investigate the transparency of major televangelists, Creflo was one of the handful they picked. He/his church declined to provide any information at all, but I distinctly remember reading that it is a matter of public record that his church has had years in which it made $70M, and his comment was basically just that everyone can go f themselves, and just because he leads a rich and extravagant lifestyle does not mean he is breaking the law. Which is true, as far as it goes, but these guys never seem to be content to be honest crooks, they also have to cheat their employees, cheat the taxman, and lie to their congregation about what the donations will be used for.

Ultimately, the probe went nowhere. Funny, the IRS thinks it is worthwhile to push hard on casinos, but not on churches, to squeeze some tax dollars out of the gray-market.

He should have asked for 130 million for two jets and named them creflo and dollar. He could say "My wife is taking creflo to Paris for some christian goods and Im taking dollar to Bangkok to teach some nonbelievers the power of christ"

This is basically the end result of all the lying a deceit. Religion is a very big criminal enterprise based on taking from the vulnerable. Absolutely disgusting, they promise you heaven while stealing every bit of you here on earth. Taking advantage of the weak is just so low in my books.

Ask yourself why churches used to have all the power and money? All the land, why all the masses were dirt poor, still are to some extent. Ask yourself why churches need your donations/money. If they knew god existed and were the middleman/spokesperson between you and god, WHY WOULD THEY NEED MONEY???Is god not above money?

Yes, what is your point? Are you actually trying to make an argument that poker is the same analogy as religion?

When you play poker, you take advantage of the weak. Thats how you win. Therefore, that makes you, by your own words, so low.

The issue for me isn't that people like this guy exist, they always have, it's all the cretins who give them their money and loyalty that really bake my noodle. At least we know that this is only happening in under-informed, technology backward, superstitious countries with poor levels of education and literacy though right?

Sir Isaac Newton was rational and intelligent enough to not believe in God. He was an atheist. He was not "weak". He was very bright. Much brighter than anyone who believed in God.

But he lost everything - $3 million in today's dollars - buying tulip bulbs at a cost of 11 cows per tulip bulb from some hustlers.

Good comparison neeeel. Not!

I haven't convinced any poker player that is weaker than me to sit down at my tables. Key point being convincing!
I have not sent them any books were I promise to give them a much better deal (ie heaven) if they just sit down at my table.
I haven't told them they will go to the worst place possible (ie hell) if they do not sit at my tables!
I have not told them to donate any money to me at all!!!!

How is this the same as poker? Enlighten me with your wisdom neeeeel?

You are actually saying that all sport people that are better than their competition are "LOW" because they win and beat other competitors.

All poker players are competitors. You do not actually know you are better or worse than anyone else until you have played those other players.

The same can not be said about religion, were you have to take someone's word (person of authority ie pastor) that if you do good you will be better of.

These people get 2 choices, either they do good and donate their hard earned money or they do bad and go to hell.

Tell me which poker player does that to another poker player (weaker).

What's your point? A lot of smart people go bust investing. They are smart people, not fortune tellers.

I'm not the only one to find this to be entirely facile.

Usually what happens now is that you tell us you meant something much more complex, but that's a good reason not to come steamrolling into threads without pause for thought.

Where are you getting that from? Maybe you should update wikipedia on this matter:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religio...f_Isaac_Newton
"Newton saw a monotheistic God as the masterful creator whose existence could not be denied in the face of the grandeur of all creation."
