Yeah, wrong denomination.

Actually, you could be correct to a significant extent.

“I can’t believe Jesus was struck,” said his brother, who noted the giant Hustler Hollywood sign for the adult store across the street was untouched. “It’s the last thing I expected to happen.”

His brother must be old, no?

I wonder if he's going to start worshipping Larry Flynt now.

Sounds like God is laying down the law for once.
Cool, I see a lot of merit to this philosophy.

Truth. I mean...grandma's icon is one thing...but 62 feet? That's just asking for it.

Why do you think the Greeks so readily turned to Jesus and the God of the bible?

They got sick of Zeus and his carnal ways.

The nature of the God of the bible is much higher than that old goat Zeus.

And people readily turned to Jesus over solely the God of the Bible, which is why we have so many more Christians than Jews these days.

Splendour, you make a great argument for how religions catch on. It sticks because people like it! Unfortunately this is ZERO evidence for, and is even evidence against, Christianity's truth.

So does that mean we can reject Yahweh now because of his carnal ways?

Yes, one of many aliases.

Jesus Christ inspired a letter to His church in Pergamum, site of the altar of Zeus, where "where Satan has his throne." (Revelation 2:12-17)

Are you one of Satan's aliases? I think you are.

I was thinking that Satan's throne would make a great tourist attraction if they promoted it right, and that the Greek economy could certainly use the influx of tourist dollars. Alas, Pergamum is in Turkey.

Read the Jewish historian Max Dimont's "Jews, God and History". That's what he says. The Greeks saw the God of the bible as so much better in nature than their Greek gods.

In fact God seeded the Greek culture with the Septaguint a couple of hundred years before the appearance of Christ so they were ready to receive him.

Do you think its coincidental that the Roman Empire tried to destroy Judaism and Christianity at about the same time and wasn't able to wipe either of them out?

Also the Greek Gods remind me of the Nephilim in Genesis 6. Devils running rampant among the populace.

Insofar as we all sin, we are all aliases of Satan, which is what the concept really means.

Pergamum, site of the altar of Zeus, "where Satan has his throne," was a center of the celebration of sin.

It would be and is a tourist attraction. The altar of Zeus was moved to a museum in Berlin circa 1901.

Adolph Hitler ordered the Pergamon Altar be the model for the Tribune at Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg, used for Nazi rallies with the Fuhrer's pulpit at the center.
