5 (famous) atheists who lost faith in atheism - Religion, God, and Theology

Thought Flew would be on there and I recall concerns with his conversion. There's longer lists of theists who've lost faith in theism though so I'm not entirely sure of your point.

The British author and journalist writes that in his 30s he "lost any religious belief whatsoever," and went on to write a book – entitled simply Jesus – which poured scorn on the idea that the gospels contained historically accurate information on a man who he simply regarded as a prominent Jewish leader. However, after spending "five or six years" quietly attending church, he says he discovered that he had come to adopt the faith preached there.

So he was religious up till his 30's, lost his faith but then regained it after attending church for 5 or 6 years? That's rather odd.

You can't lose 'faith' in Atheism. Contradiction in terms. Don't try to use your way of thinking to undermine what other people think, it's kinda self defeating as well as being illogical.

That notwithstanding, a list of people who changes their minds is interesting but ultimately a bit pointless, just an exercise in supporting you Confirmation bias really. I'm about to unsubscribe from one of the atheist organisations I follow on FB because all they ever seem to post is quotes from famous people who are atheists. Ok, great, but it doesn't make you right or add anything to the debate.

Fasteringzit is still here arguing how atheism is illogical and a belief-system. I've been away for some time but it looks like some people still haven't learned a thing.

Can you explain to me how withholding from believing is a belief-system in itself?
