The argument that 16k game contacts are unfair is retarded. There are loads of backers out there willing to stake, and a horse is free to go to every one and try and get the best deal. If a 16k game contract is the best they can get then there must be a reason behind it (they don't have particularly good stats, the cut was good etc)

I don't really see anything wrong with signing for a set number of games, seems like a great idea really...i just don't see why you would sell your soul for it....also while i have nothing against exclusivity per se i don't think you should give it up without somethin in return...if ur getting coached by a sick ass player it can be worth it but u gotta get something for it or ur getting ripped off and should flip burgers for money instead since u'll probably make more money

anyway the matter is pretty much settled, hope everyone learnt something from it but probably not ...i'm probably a lot dumber now to be sure

also if you are going to write a contract and expect it to be enforcable a good choice of wording is a must like maybe spelling it a little better would have helped

also, just sayin...this is a very one-sided contract for the backers because the horse didm't get enough in return for that many games + exclusivity...a lot of things change in 8 months, you could land your dream job IRL, or your dream girl, or you might find out that you are a beast and a better player than your backer, and might outgrow the stake, if you don't have an out clause and your backer does then a thread like this appearing is gonna be a favorite

As said before, the contract is probably only unfair if the horse could not be bothered to apply to more than on backer, in which case its his fault. I find it hard to believe that if he is a hard working, trustworthy player, that every backer would offer him this sort of deal.

Honestly competition between backers at the moment is pretty high with free coaching being thrown in by everyone, which as we know is expensive. I expect alot of backers make a similar amount staking as they would coaching, except they have there own money at risk. When you add into the fact we have to deal with some extremely scummy people and get money stolen from us on a frequent basis, staking is not the money printing cakewalk that many in this thread make it out to be.
