It depends on the agreement signed between both parties.

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for staking advice/questions***
Made this postt in the beginners questions section and was told to post it here by a mod.
To start off I just want to say that I am not using this thread to try and get people to buy shares in me as I would not be looking to do this for at least 6 months still.
To try and make this as simple, and as short as possible, I was wondering how hard it would be to sell a package to a WSOP circut site? Say for example there were 10 No-Limit events between $6,000-$7,000 total, or more likely an event or two because of conflicts with school.
I am only 20 years old and wont turn 21 until late December so that's why I wouldn't be looking to do this anytime before then. Basically backround on poker is made a profit on Bodog of $900 through MTT's from August 2011-December 2011 but can not find a site that tracks this. Played on Merge since January 2012 and have played 501 tournaments with an ABI of $11 and ROI of 17% for a toal profit of $936 according to OPR. Ranked in the 94th percentile for 2012. Started playing Live cash games at $1/$2 about one month ago and have shown a profit of $1,991 over 54.5 Hours for over a $36/Hr rate (I know LOL sample size and impossible to maintain, but that's all I got for now). Have been tracking through excel on my own but I know it's impossible for me to really prove this is correct.
My plan would be to sell 80% at 1.2 markup so I would be freerolling with 20% of myself since I have no where near the bankroll to play these tournaments on my own. (Or at 1.1 and have 10% of myself, same concept)
So with the information I have given above I have a few questions
1) Do I have a reasonable chance at doing something at least close to this or am I just wishful thinking? (Please let me know either way, want to be realistic as possible with this idea)
2) I have no refrences as far as people in poker or at twoplustwo, so would that be hard to gain peoples trust?
3) What kind of numbers should I target with my results to show true numbers through variance and to prove people I am a winning player (Like number of tournaments and number of hours at live cash games)
Sorry this post was so long just wanted to make sure I gave people enough of an idea with my plan and history in poker.

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for staking advice/questions***
Hi weird situation with my backer that i'd like some advice on:
I've been staked by 2 guys since March, an during the first couple of months everything went well. However, in June I went on a downswing and am now $4k in makeup. During this time I had lots of issues with them keeping my account funded so that I could continue playing, often either having to miss sessions that i'd arranged (around my full time job) or playing with my own money.
Recently the backer who I've had most of the contact with has quit. I had a discussion with the other backer a week ago, who adjusted my schedule and agreed to continue the deal, and ship me some money to continue playing. However so far this money hasn't arrived, and he hasn't been responding to my PMs or on Skype. I know he's been online during this time, which makes it even more frustrating.
I've now been 2 weeks without any money in my account. What do I do?
I don't want to out the backer as I'd like to resolve this amicably if possible.

If he isn't funding your account, the deal is over. Two weeks is long enough to wait. Find a new backer or play on your own.

why isn't there any live staking groups advertising?
There are obviously many people that back live pros, but it seems odd to me that you only see online groups looking for horses in the staking marketplace. Any reason for this, or have I just missed it?

If I bought a piece of someone's Vegas package through the marketplace, what's the protocol on wait time for payouts? Every other horse I bought paid within a week, even if they were still in Vegas. The final event of this player's package was June 30.

Do you think it would be possible to find someone to transfer me a few bucks on lock, just so i can enter a few cheap tourneys, and let them keep all the profits, just so I could have the experience

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for staking advice/questions***
I was staked for MTTs for quite a while, and was staked online/live up to 2010 WSOP. I was in makeup at that time and left down on the series. Shortly after black friday hit I busted the bankroll of the backers, and they did not refill it. We exchanged messages and as I remember I was always told to "wait". The agreement has been idle since then, and I have sent the backers several messages asking if I can keep playing a month over the past six months or so, and they seem to be ignoring me, but we should be in good terms. I think they are distracted with some recent successes (bracelet and currently on WSOP ME FT). Last response I got was after I sent four messages "sorry I keep forgetting to reply", and nothing over the last two months (four more messages sent/received).
What to do? =/

I would prefer to resolve things with them, I have a lot of respect for them and would like to get out of the hole. I also would not want to quit a stake in makeup, but it has been more than a year and they are not communicating about the stake for some reason. That said, I want to keep playing and need a backer, so I guess I will just tell them I will look for a new backer and assume the stake is over if they don't respond to me within the next couple of weeks, unless anyone thinks this is unreasonable?

So you want to play for these guys, but they refuse to give you money or have any type of communication with you...
Find a new backer. Your stake is over.

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for staking advice/questions***
Staking question for UK based player and staker.
Could anyone explain this to a newb please or provide a link. I'm completely lost on here and so much to take in.
Basicly, got friend who's willing to stake me, but only if I can prove to him that any winnings are tax free and how to do it legally, by the book etc. He can afford to lose the money, so it's more of a friend thing than buisness, though he does smell potential over a longer term (year+).
All replies regarding UK appreciated.
