Bump.

Where are all my microstakers at??? Heard from a few people, but I figured the micros would be jumping at an opportunity to possibly move up in stakes a little quicker. Again, I'm just looking for some possible opportunites for a mutually beneficial situation. Let me know if there's any interest. PM me or email me at the address of the previous post.

Well KC, this is the staking discussion thread, not the offering thread which can be found a few posts down.

Likewise, the only way to know you won't get scammed or photoshopped is by trust. I don't think you should be giving much money to a person who you believe would even think about scamming/photoshopping you, so hope that helps basically. There's no real foolproof way of not getting scammed/photoshopped though.

Can someone address the staking question in regards to taxes that Rupert posed?

If i'm with him (or a UK friend or something) at the time of cash out can I claim the cash out then send him online money later or something?
State taxes are typically deducted at time of win: I.e 5% Louisiana state tax for my WSOPC cash in New Orleans. I'm not sure which other states have a similar tax.

Fed taxes are typically paid later when the American files his US tax return. As long as the American provides his SSN to the casino they will give him a W2G and they do not withhold federal tax. If he cannot or will not provide this info (i.e. a foreign player) then the casino withholds 28% for federal taxes.

You can't "claim" the horse's winnings (unless you sue like Jamie Gold's backers and get the court to order the casino to fold the funds). There is nothing wrong with the horse handing the money over to you and you paying the horse back his share, but all this will have to documented and explained by the horse when he files his tax return.

im thinking about backing someone for nl cashgames.

hes a proven winner at nl400 and i think about staking him a 5k bankroll to work his way up from nl200 following a strict 25bi br management. whether nl600/ nl1k shots are allowed is still to be decided.

i think about limiting this deal based on either time or # of hands.

all the risk would be on my side, means he doesnt risk a cent.

how many percent of his winnigs should i get? im totally lost on this one tbh. help much appreciated.

note: hes not a friend, this is solely for profit purposes since i assume this money will yield me much more interest than any other form of investment.

stakeback + 50/50 over a certain amount of time seems solid

is 50/50 the standard with such deals? what if we agree on the staking deal ending once he reached 100k hands? does this change anything?

Mods a little help here. I was potentially interested in staking some micro people to test the waters. I got an email from somebody and under their name where it says "stranger," "old hand," "carpal tunal," etc it says banned for this person. Does this mean they are banned from the forums? If so is there any way to find out for why? Thanks for the help.

Yes, it means that they are banned from the forums (though it could be a temporary ban).

It is very hard to get banned from the forums and you should probably not trust anyone who is so out of line that they get banned.

Please PM me the name of the person and I will let you know the reason for their ban (even if you are not interested in staking them I would still like to know who it is in case they are a scammer as they will probably come back under a new account and try to get others to stake them)

I'm looking to stake someone at NLHE cash, prob 50 or 100nl, where I would provide their entire roll basically. What is a typical deal for this situation? Let's say I stake them for 50k hands, and I am going to take all losses, how much of their profitz would I take?

you take all losses, 50/50 profit split is norm.

I got a quick question about deals...I would be getting a set amount up front for me to play with in whatever games, levels I want. This money will be paid back in full either way, win or lose. What is a proper contract for this sort of thing 50/50...or 60/40 (my favor)? Thanks...sorry if its already posted

If the money will be paid back if you lose this is a loan and not a stake.

If someone gave me money to play poker, and you have to pay it back no matter if you win or lose, they're not getting anything of my profits.

Well I think they should get something personally. The guy is a friend of mine and hes nice enough to give me the loan. Wondering if anyone has any expirence with this kinda loan?

Then if you're going to do that, I would give him a % on his investment. I think the normal rate nowadays is around 3% or so. I'd give him 5% on however long you set the loan up for and call it at that.

Can you please explain this alittle better...What do you mean? I would give him 5% on the set amount he gave me? No profits included? So say he gives me 1k I give him back $1,050? Regardless win or loose?
