Being asked for chip count.

During tournement play, when opposing player asks you for chip count, may you defer this task to the dealer?..I have seen players ask for chip count , just to see the emotions of the other player.

Re: Being asked for chip count.

If asked, I just make sure that my chips are neatly stacked in columns of twenty, and push them forward about six inches so that the other player can see them.

Yes, just ask the dealer to help you. Don't think that he will reject your offer.

Pending who is asking me at my table sometimes I will verbally respond with the exact number. Othertimes I will make my chips clearly visible and if they still want a count the dealer with give them a number close to the range.
