We want more GBU

Its a little hard to make out what OP is trying to say...
But i think he likes the GBU, and not races because he doesnt play a lot? The race is Jan is especially good for new players as it resetts every 7 days.... There for starting on the site in the middle of the race doesnt hurt as much as a monthly race, and with weekly awards noobs can build br quicker.

And to be honest id rather they just put that GBU money into rakeraces to be honest. It was kinda a pain to have to contact support at the end of each day.

Yer its a shame it went, but only because I've had my aces cracked 8 times since it was stopped ;-)
Boohaa the rake races are a great idea, but only if you are playing NL100 and above. The GBU promotion obviously helped the microgrinders that little bit more.

We really liked the GBU as well, but it was around for 3 months (2 months longer than planned), and it was time for something new.

We're planning the rest of our winter and spring promotions now. I'd love to get something like the GBU in there, just with one bonus instead of three.

So here is my counter-proposal. If you all come up with an alternative to the GBU that we can run in February, I'll run it upstairs and see if we can do it. The criteria:

1. It has to be good for noobs.
2. It has to be something that is easy to market (strong, clear message).
3. It has to have a clever name.
4. It cannot be based on rake.
5. It cannot be so generous that we would have to reduce the Races or take away the First Deposit Bonus to run it.

I could make it trickier and say that we want to stick with classic movie themes. Bonus points for anyone who can do that.

Well, of course you would, you cleared enough in those the last 3 months for a very Merry Christmas! Congrats, BTW...you're buying breakfast next July IMO.

I'm loathe to complain about it too much, since EL has a nice package of promos between bonuses, rake races, and that which will not be named. However, I thought the GBU was a good promotion.

It was there for anyone who wanted it, but they only had to pay it out to those who were aware of it and cared to send the emails. It also brought them at least a little bit of extra rake, I'm sure. I know there were a few times I put in an extra bet with 7-2 or made a crying call with AA to get to showdown when I wouldn't have otherwise. Hopefully they bring back another hand promotion soon!
