Do they work?

It's an unofficial corporate policy of ours not to use babes in our ads or at conferences or anywhere that babes are normally present. We don't think they're effective, especially to half the world's population. But we keep seeing them... As a female, I'm a bit turned off by an ad with a mostly naked woman on it. I'm less likely to click on a banner with boobs.

So, here's a little bit of market research for the 2+2 community. Do you tend to click more or less on banners with babes?

While we're at it, do you click more or less on banners that use flash?

Finally, do you even click on banners? If so, what about the banner compelled you to do it?

babe is nice to look at, but it's not gonna change anything.
maybe donks and fishes will like it. thurs....it could work.

Usually if I click banners, it's a mistake.

i read them over and over and over again

then i prolly am board multi tabling and will google the "said banner logo or company" so that it brings it up to the top of google list and i knows its the OFFICIAL ONE...

hit on: reliable and trained/knowlegable customer support.
or "Monthly promos other sites just dont offer!"

thats already your strength... but aside from that is one of the things that will make people change sites.

For me banners are a time convenience, if I intend to visit a site and I see a banner than it saves me a few extra seconds.

What is your stance on using demographic surveys to balance out the number of babes to the number of hot oily men used in banner ads?

I never ever click on banners because I don't want the affilate codes to be put in when i click. Then if i am interested I search for the best affilate deal I can before joining.

As for the babes in the banners, banners don't really bother me at all with what you put on them. However at live events promo girls are good for creating a scene. They get you attention which is why people use them. It is basically the simplest way to get attention to see a male dominated pasttime (yes more and more women are playing but every live event I go to there rarely more than 1 at each table).

What makes me to click on a banner is: I am interested in the information.
What makes me to chose a Pokerroom: Software, rakeback, fishes, number of players seated at the tables.
Why I am not playing at Eurolinx: Did hear that the software has some annoyances (small cards, waiting list, no auto rebuy...), No rakeback offer (they told me I have to make a deposit before they give me any information {What is wrong with your rakeback program})

WTF???!!! If that is true it would be plain dishonest.

And no, "babes" make no diference in ads, except for escorts.

Personally i hate those adds...like "oh buy this screw driver, then u will *** the hottest women tonight"....

like fckign make no sense and are just created to ******* people.

But on the other side, Freuds research\insights arent based on thin air.
So imo it rly depends on which kinda people ur advertising.

Don´t think that i am "better", i guess maybe a bit more rational.
So personally its an anti add if there is a babe involved.

But if its the same product, same ingredients etc, i honestly dont know if i subconsciously wouldnt choose the one who is advertised by the more appealing person.


So all in all i think the people that you are trying to advertise to prefer babe ads.
Dunno bout 2+2. I have no statistical proof but i believe the majority of poker players and gamblers are male.

I think the advantage to using babes and boobs in ads is to get your attention, not to make you necessarily want to click more...I'm taking an advertising class and I'm pretty sure it'd be better to keep the babes because people (men) are more likely to look at it and remember the name associated with it. The initial reaction to the advertisement (which, unless they're gay, should be positive) will be associated with the brand (Eurolinx), and that usually sticks for a while.

Summary: babes are A++ and while it might only make a small difference, it still does

If you got some "babes" in your add, it might work better. However, it is more the accompanying text that does the trick, than the babe in the add. I like the Eurolinx adds for being stylish.

Besides that; people at work will quickly scroll away from a babed add...
