Ben “BenaBadBeat” Raven began his online poker career as a Sit & Go player. After learning the importance of bankroll management, he started winning regularly at the $5 and $10 9-man Sit & Go’s.

Shortly after, he participated in a PokerStars VPP promotion for UK players. As the year progressed, he found himself well short of the 100,000 VPP milestone necessary to make Supernova, and he decided to make the switch to cash games.

Ben would become a “mindless mass-tabler.” He would play 24-tables spread at the $50 and $100NL games with only a mediocre win-rate.

In late-2011 / early-2012, he won the Big $55 on PokerStars and finish 2nd in TCOOP -25 for a combined score of just over $100,000.

The big score lead Ben to an unsuccessful stint at playing $1k HUNL, live MTTs, and online MTTs. It was during this time that he gave himself an ultimatum: refocus on his game away from the tables or quit poker.

For the last 14 months, Ben has been one of the most consistent and biggest winners from $1/$2 to $3/$6 Full-Ring NLHE on PokerStars.

Watch his debut video at CardRunners, where he reviews a batch of interesting hands played from $1/$2 to $2/4 here.
