An investigation by the New York Times has found chemical companies have violated the Clean Water Act more than 500,000 times in the last five years. Most of the violations have gone unpunished, with state regulators taking significant action in just three percent of all cases. Although some of the cases entailed minor violations, a majority of 60 percent were deemed to be in “significant noncompliance.” These cases are of the most serious and include the dumping of cancer-causing chemicals or failing to measure or report pollution. An estimated one in ten Americans has been exposed to drinking water that has dangerous chemicals or falls short of federal standards. Forty percent of the nation’s community water systems violated the Safe Drinking Water Act at least once, exposing over 23 million people to potential danger.

I am shocked, shocked! to find impotent federal regulation among the regulators of this federation.

I have zero clue how to develop apps for iPhone, and from my understanding the approval process is pretty annoying itself. Getting mobile styles sorted out seems like the better way to go.

The only reason I ever get irked when people want more and more from mobile styles is that 2p2 used to have nothing for that at all. You were just stuck with the regular style as your phone wanted to render it. And the only reason iPhone users don't get the mobile style is that people wanted to view the normal one. Now it's sort of shifted again, and people want something specific for that.

If I were actually a decent programmer or designer some of this would be easier... but I've kinda just learned as I go along here.

It doesn't filter out whatever is in my water that makes me sick, and I think cancer is smaller than that.

"Girl From The North Country" is a good song imo. Bob Dylan for songwriter!

Lucky for us all [except Mayo] is that we don't live in a coal mining region of the United States [except Mayo].

Yes.

I don't think coal mining area means what you think it means. Or vise versa I never can remember.
09-15-2009 , 10:47 AM
Ryan, the forums work okay as is on my iPhone. I just that sites that have iPhone apps seem to load faster and look cleaner. No big deal either way.

I define "coal mining area" as "an area where coal is mined." Do you use a different definition?

UK freshman linebacker Ridge Wilson will be charged with 4th degree assault after being accused of punching a female in the face on UK’s campus. WLEX is reporting the Wilson immediately left the scene of the incident and has not been seen since.
We’ll keep you posted as details emerge.
When you name your kid "Ridge" you run the risk that someday you'll see a headline like this.
