Pgh, again...
NOBODY OWES YOU LOGIC...why do most people only eat cereal at breakfast time? Why is the
shape representative of love? Why is it considered bad form to chew with your mouth open at the North American table?
They're all based on tradition. So much of what we do is.
I like being married, and to me it is more than just words. It is irretrievably linking your life to someone. Forever. Come hell or high water, I stood before the people we cared about and made myself honour bound to wake up every day and try, hard, for this family. And I will.
If you don't value that system, that's cool. But undercutting its value in someone else's life is kind of arrogant. Your logic and belief system are yours alone, it has no intrinsic value to me. Thus, you may never be able to make sense of it, but that doesn't mean marriage isn't a perfectly acceptable, logical, choice for me.
