Pulling for le Santorum for the same reasons. Seems to be an absolute coin flip.

Hi NC!!! (wave)

I'm no political expert but I have a hunch that Santorum wouldn't be as terrible for the GOP as everyone seems to be making out. Everyone seems to think that running on the same ticket as Santorum would be awful for all the smaller GOP candidates in terms of riding his "coat-tails". I take the contrary view that Santorum would actually get a significantly larger turnout from the base of the Republican party than Mitt and help them in the House elections in spite of losing to Obama miserably overall.

I'm basing this off of absolutely no insight whatsoever, it's possible I suppose that there are a lot fewer split tickets than I estimate there are.

I used to pay attention to politics but I've sadly lost hope. You have the Democrats (Coke) and the Republicans (Pepsi). Take your pick. What one part of your life one party does not want to control the other one does. They are both doomed to repeat the mistakes made by every nation in the past. I know this should inspire me to be Lirva like but I can only say **** it. The system is so corrupt we are on a greased slide to ruin.

My kids live 1500 miles from me (your kilometers my vary).

I think your problem is not making voting compulsory

In the last decade the US Dollar has lost 25% of it's value relative to a weighted index of it's major trading partners.

I would be agreeable to this if we had a parliamentary system. As it is now (and likely will be forever) **** that.

Unrelated....kind of. I hear inflation is good. The economy needs inflation. Why is this? So what they are saying is that the dollar bill is the one thing you want to own to be worth less tomorrow than it is today? Is there another example of something we posses where we want this to be the case?

In Australia and a handful of other countries they get fined if they don't vote ... something like a couple hundred bucks o/s. Turnout is ~94%

Our government has a hand in manipulating the value of our currency to suit it's needs.

I imagine that if it was a law turnout would be higher but that doesn't reflect anything other than the fact that they HAVE to vote.

if they did that, they would never know what happens.. they know the demographics that vote, and the few states that really matter ( the rest just always vote the same every year) and they pander to them

10% of your country votes os like that. Does that 10% truly reflect who the country wants in office?
