omg omg omg 126 - Page 105 - omg omg omg -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

I am going to be running a mission starting on Saturday. Usually they would have assigned the task to someone much more experienced. My crew is me and another guy who has even less experience than I do. I'm not sure if they gave it to us based on confidence in our ability, apathy about the mission, or if it was just an oversight.

I am neither prepared nor qualified for the mission. I have spent about a month running around telling the powers that be that we need training. Everyone keeps saying "Oh, it's easy" but none of them can/will ever answer my specific questions on how to do this "easy" thing, and they brush aside any and all concerns I express that I am not confident that I have all the knowledge I need to make it happen. So it seems like the "apathy" reason is the most likely.

I'm really scared of this very possible scenario: If the other guy and I fail to get the network up, the entire mission (which involves like 500 people) will fail. That's the nature of working in the comm field: Without comms, nothing can happen. The squadron commander will look like a doofus in front of the group and wing commanders, and he will in turn eat the other guy and me for breakfast. And I am in charge, so I will take the brunt of it. Our squadron commander really likes to give out "letters of reprimand" to people, which are actually pretty damn serious, to the point that they can affect my future promotions.

Anyway, today I got yelled at for coming to work early to work on it, and then I got yelled at again for staying late to work on it. True story.

I try not to be. This is really starting to stress me out, though. I have done literally everything I know to make this work, and I'd say there's only about a 70% chance that it will. And if it doesn't, I'm about to be ****ed in the ass a little bit.

I'm okay. I have a sort of break in the week because... I dunno, our class finished early or something. So... my dumb ass picked up an extra shift this week. UGHHH don't want to work tomorrow. How is school? Are you a doctor yet?

My second 8 week class for the semester starts on Monday. I have to be in class from 8:30-11:30 (fuuuuuuuuuuu) and clinical Thursday and Friday again from 7-3. Blech. Spring break is only 3 weeks away though!

Job is okay. Some days some people really seem grateful to have someone not jaded taking care of them, but I don't like being the grunt worker.
