Not straight into upper management but most of our upper management did start out on the production floor. Of course if you are looking to "shoot straight into" then you are again one of the problem workers.

while I agree that 12/hr sucks.. min wage is what.. 7.25 now? a lot of jobs in service industries are going to be min wage or just above, because they get the bottom of the barrel

And 10 an hour is starting wage at taco bells and mcdonalds in Cali one of the more expensive states btw 17 an hour for gas station 20 hour part time employee at chevrons in Hawaii but it's cus of cost of living

When I figure the cost of labor when crunching numbers I was told we use $25/hour as the average hourly rate including everything. Seems about right.
