Day 1 was completely bananas, many ozekis and yokozunas falling to lesser-ranked opponents. Seems like anyone is a contender for this tournament.

(greatest of all time) in his sport but he’d have to add another couple of Super Bowl titles to match up to Hakuho.

On sheer numbers alone the yokozuna deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Wayne Gretzky, Michael Phelps and Babe Ruth.
