I know if it could be bottled it would sell like gold, but what are some suggestions you have for managing tilt? It is so tough not to associate how we are running with how we are playing strictly from a psychological standpoint. As such, it is such a quick slide from running bad to playing bad. Even at my micro level I find that I get exceedingly frustrated when I'm whiffing every flop, getting raised every time I have nothing more than TP, and just generally can't seem to ever win. Thankfully this doesn't happen all of the time, but what techniques do you use to remember this WHILE it is happening?

Sorry this question became tl;dr. Cliff notes: What strategies do you depend upon to remain mostly tilt-free?
Playing more tables has helped me tremendously with tilt. I just don't try to make something out of nothing, because the next +ev situation is right around the corner.

Subsequently, after you've done this a whil and seen things balance out, you become more accepting and understanding of the swings. So yeah, basically experience.

Lastly, if you read my last blog post, I spoke on Anthonty Robbins book, "Unlimited power". It gives all kinds of methods to controling your brain and your state. Several of his techniques and ideas have helped me tremendously latley.

AAA+++
Agree with totally. Even a jump from one table to two as I did will make the trick (for a less experienced player like me).

As far as reviewing my play,. I mentioned it earlier. I review all of the big pots, and make notes where nessecary. Then I pick a 'reg-of-the-day' and go thru all of his hands that went to showdown.
have you done me, and if so, does your counter strategy involve min-rasing?

Thanks for doing the well Main.

Agree with all those that say you are a class dude. Interesting comment about being somewhat egoless...it's a very nice quality, and I'm sure it's a big reason why you rarely tilt.

Sooner or later we all get what we deserve in life and in poker.

Good luck at the tables.

I havn't done you b/c I like you.

Maybe my biggest problem in poker is that I don't quite have a 'killer instinct', in that once I like someone I'm less likely to try to exploit them.

this has been asked before of others but I would like to know your thoughts on the future of online poker. we're going to be ok, right?

also, i play lower than you but I have played with you a couple times and I really admire how strongly you adhere to the don't educate/berate the fish philosophy. If everyone had your control then the poker community would be SO much better off

I'm generally an optimist, but I think things will be ok. Volume has been increasing on stars lately, which is a good sign. If poker can catch on in asia, I think we're in for another boom.

And yeah, I can't even remember the last time I berated someone for their play. This is not to say that I never take jabs at people, as with the right person it is +EV. I'll never initate much, but with aggro fish who are running thier mouths, I like to become a target. This is because I'm generally tight, and when I catch a hand I want action from him/her.

QFT. Poker is still relatively unknown in China. When all the degenerate gamblers in China learn poker, it will be .

PS: no racist ban plz, I'm Chinese myself.

I'm not sure if online gambling is legal in China though. I know thier internet is pretty restrictive as lots of sites are blocked.

FWIW, fulltilt poker is blocked in korea which is worrysome for me if Stars so happens to be next.

Technically it's illegal in China but right now so few people play the government hasn't started to care yet.

It's true that a lot of websites are censored in China, but there are ways around the censors I'm pretty sure.

b/c everyone loves negreanu and greenstein is totally in with the asians.

jk about that of course but you do make a good point. gambling is a huge part of many asian cultures. japan may be a better bet. wasn't there just a big tourney somewhere in asia?
