Weird ass 5/10 spot with ??

5/10 game, playing decently deep as most people at table have 200bbs+.

Hero: Live pro, asian, raises pretty liberally but playing nitty, sitting on 2500.

Villain: 29 year old white guy, looks well to do and ran his 1500 buyin up to 4800 in about an hour just running hotter than the sun. Seems quite competent, but has said one or two fishy things which lead us to believe he is actually a pro as well.

folds around to hero in the SB who raises to 40, BB calls. Hero has (Xx, Xx)

Flop: (85$) K107r. Hero cbets 40$, villain raises to 125$, Hero 3bets to 270$, villain calls.

Turn: (580$) 4c completing the rainbow. Hero bets 250$, villain says "you are giving me great odds" and calls.

River: (1,080$) 6d. Hero bets 250$, villain raises to 1,050$. Hero calls with? Hero jams with? Hero folds with?

Any input appreciated, thanks.

It really stinks that you are getting 3-1 but I fold here. villain is clearly value raising with 9-8. I would fold your entire range. He is probably not a pro, btw and he was being truthful with what he said.

Any reason for turn sizing? I can't really understand it accomplishing more than a normal-sized bet would accomplish based on board texture not changing at all, unless you knew for sure he was on a draw, had air yourself, and wanted to set up for a cheap river bluff.

As played flip a coin, J9 and QJ both whiffed and it's a believable sizing for him to be spazzing. I'd feel a lot grosser about it if he made it 700 total. Calling range and folding range are kind of tough to construct since it depends on how wide your flop 3bet range is BVB relative to how polarized you think he is on the river.

The speech makes me want to call, no competent player ever has straight here but 67 would be pretty gross Btw why did you bet so small on the turn?

What TimeBomb said. That speech seems like a T or 7 planning to rep a straight on one of the many straight cards OTR. Based on runout, not sure what the river blocker bet is aimed at (67?).

I would call 100% of hands I value bet this river this size with. It's pretty bad to bet this size on the river and induce when you don't know what you're doing vs a raise. I actually like this river play though as long as you snappity snapped river.

The river bet of 250 is so tiny, its basically a check, so if im checking that river, my plan is calling most rivers with my value range.

Hate the turn sizing with your entire range.

I would only bet that small on river to induce, no other sense in betting that small.

+1. Size definitely looks like you wanted to induce so I would have called with my entire range here as well.

Re: Weird ass 5/10 spot with ??

For clarification, the OP say hero is a live pro and is Asian. Hint: I am not asian I saw this hand go down between two players and immediately after the hand they asked my opinion (lol) and I just said I would have snap called because I can't fold Aces. The real reason I snap here though is because its very hard to rep a value range as narrow as Villain reps, and he also seems capable of hand reading. Because of this, I felt like I knew Hero had AA/AK and I knew Villain was repping thin. What sealed the deal for me (and Hero) is that villain started talking a whole lot when Hero was in the tank.

edit: let me clarify, I think villain realized Hero had AK/AA, making this a much more snap call for me.

flop reraise is probably bad.

river bet size is definitely bad given hero didnt snap.
