Thread for chumps and b1tches Thread for chumps and b1tches

Hi all,

I thought it might be time to point out that although most of the most active posters on this forum are winning professionals, technically it's open to ALL people who play medium-stakes full ring poker. Now it's time for those of us who make someone else's ballin' lifestyle possible to have our say.

Here's tonight's topic of discussion: is "when I feel like it" really the best time for an amateur to play poker? For pros, playing at any time has a positive expectation. For the Lobster and other suckaz, I wonder if it just means we're more primed to throw our money away.

To wit, it's Friday night; I don't have a date; I've sunk a few New Belgium Rangers and watched some Breaking Bad and still can't get to sleep; and today was payday and I'm feeling wealthy. What could possibly go wrong? My level of concentration is obviously razor-sharp.

I play when its convenient which is never fri/sat. Ive had some really wild stuff happen on some random weeknights anyways. Obviously this is the least profitable time to play for the most part, but often im starting the game so it starts hu/short and im in it so the games are by default good.

Yeah, that's the problem. When it's more about self-respect than making money, you're a fish. To buy self-respect, it would be cheaper to go down to Pioneer Square and throw fifty cent pieces at bums.

You should always play after eating an apple. Never any other time.

I don't understand the thread title. Shouldn't it be every pros aspiration to one day be the big money whale? Is it not the full time pros grinding out their meaningless existence at a poker table that are the true chumps and b1tches?

Heh, heh, heh. I heard this story in the 1980s: there was this Air Force second lieutenant in flight training at the time _Top Gun_ came out. Just a student pilot. One of his friends back home was teasing him and asked, "So, do you want to be like Tom Cruise?"

Answer: "No, Tom Cruise wants to be like me."
