Theory: Playing big pairs oop on wet flops

Pretty common scenario and answers are obviously going to depend on players but I'm wondering how people play big pairs oop on wet flops with multiple callers.

Here's a typical example of a hand I played yesterday. I'd been pretty active and had a winning image and pick up black KK UTG. I raise to my standard $40 open and get 5 callers (yes the game was amazing).

Pot (240): Flop 5s8s9c

I bet 150 and get 3 callers. Are you just done with the hand after this?

Few Questions:

a) can you ever make a case for check folding draw heavy boards like this or even scarier ones like JQ9 double suited? I'm talking in pots with 3+ villians

b) If you get 3 callers like above and a blank comes on the turn, are you firing again or are you done with the hand?

These are obviously general questions and gameflow/player dependent but curious as to how people approach these situations.

there aren't any player reads here, so how can we answer?

Are you asking if you should just muck after only getting some callers? What does 'being done with the hand' mean?
What's the turn...you get to see it free.

Not trying to be a dick here, but poker is a game of specific situations and from your post it seems like you know this. I'm really trying to understand what you are asking....

Here's a general answer to what I think you are trying to ask:

My general approach to playing big pairs OOP depends on the number of opponents, the board, and the opponents tendancies at a specific point in time during a specific session.

Huh?

Impossible to generalize. There are certainly instances where I do not put any more money in a pot with a big pair and other times where it gets played as a bluff-catcher for as long as I can stand it, though those are collectively a minority obv.

Prob start c/c-ing or checking back in certain spots, helps you pot control/disguises your hand/induce a bluff or get them to valuecut themselves.

In the situation described I'd prob bet smallish a decent number of turns figuring I won't get exploited by a raise too often.

Re: Theory: Playing big pairs oop on wet flops

Scratch this thread. Way too general/vague. Basically trying to come up with reasons to check/fold big pairs on wet boards with multiple callers. I basically think it's a guessing game in these situations especially if you're up against good players. I'm not saying I check/fold these hands, but definitely feel it's -EV in the long run when you're in these situations. And now I'm babbling. Next subject....
