Some fun 10/25 hands

Game is 5/10 with 25 btn straddle.

Deuce prop is on. If you win a pot and show a 2 you collect $100 from the other 6 players in the prop. It has made the game play pretty big, standard open is around 150-200.

Hand 1:

V1: good aggro regular, in 2-prop, 15k
V2: over aggro spot, in 2-prop, 7k
Me: nitontilting it up, in prop, 10k

V1 opens to $100 from BB, V2 calls MP, I squeeze K K to $450 from CO, only V1 calls.

Flop 9 6 7

V1 checks, I check back for pot control, and to give his 2x hands a chance to lead turn.

Turn 9 6 7 2

V1 leads $650, I call

River 9 6 7 2 3

V1 checks, Hero???

Just so many options here. Think he has 2x a good amount of the time, and knows my range is 2x heavy. Could really see doing anything from overbetting, vbetting something near 2/3 pot, or checking back. In same orbit I got 3 big streets with the nuts vs. same villain, so unlikely he thinks I'll be light if I bomb river.

Hand 2:

V1 (mark in the game, doesn't vbet thin or bluff often, rarely slowplays, fairly stationy, in 2-prop 40k)
Hero (in 2-prop, 20k)
Others (10k+)

Hero opens SB to $150 with 23, V1 calls, 2 others call.

Flop J 5 3

I bet $400, V1 calls, others fold.

Turn J 5 3 K

I bet $850, V1 calls.

River J 7 3 K K

Hero checks, V1 bets $1100

Villain definitely calls all 2x hands pre (doesn't 3b them ever), peels flop with any piece. Don't have much history vs. him but he definitely is super polarized on the river and has definitely been nearly nutted+ (mostly PLO though) at showdown. I think he raises sets close to 100% before river. His river sizing is pretty consistent 1/3 pot or so, not reading too much into it.

We also get $600 bonus if we call or c/r and win.

Hand 3:

V1 (over aggro losing reg stuck tons, in 2-prop, 10k)
Hero (in prop, 20k)
V2 (fish from hand 2, in prop)

V1 opens MP to $200, Hero calls A 3 in CO, V2 defends BTN.

Flop Q Q 5

V2 bets $400, Hero calls, V2 folds.

Turn Q Q 5 7

V2 checks, Hero checks.

River Q Q 5 7 2

V2 checks, Hero???

Terrible river as this guy opens 100% of 2x hands pre. Also has some sizing tells pre where 2x hands and premiums opened bigger then other opens. From all this I'm pretty sure he's capped at 2x here, but still could have some better A-high's.

Anyone like a bluff here, possible overbet? Or should we just give up and not bluff the guy who's steaming hard.

****

As an aside, what do you guys feel is good opening strategy regarding the 2-prop. And playing vs the guys in the 2-game opening all combos of it. Stacks are usually 10k+ deep, so 3b's are rarely folded to.

1. Bet 1k.
2. Call.
3. Bet turn.

In general, raising pre in ep or mp seems bad in this game. Just limp your entire range of good hands and 2x hands IMO. In lp, go ahead and raise or 3b as often as you normally would, just make it a lot bigger than normal.

Obv it would be incredibly +ev short term to not be in the prop and just play super nitty- good for you for not doing that. Poker needs more games like this.

H1 I think its a must bet , I feel Like betting 500ish and hoping to induce

H2 cant really do anything vs him just take your losses with the 2x and fold.

H3 I think you should bet the turn and probably bet river if called. As played betting 1/2 pot ish to make him fold better Ahighs and checking are close.

No offense, but how come almost every live hand that I read people are using the word "lead" incorrectly?

Deuce rule is pretty fun stuff btw.

Re: Some fun 10/25 hands

On hand 1 our range looks like its mostly marginal pairs that want to get to showdown or draws that whiffed, so I'd expect him to c/r pretty much never, so I'd basically never check behind and also for that reason don't like betting small to induce since I think we're very rarely inducing. I think 3/4ths pot seems like the right sizing, not too large since he might still be gunshy from incorrectly paying off but enough to polarize us a bit.

Hand 2 it seems like even despite the $600 overlay you still have to fold, him being polarized doesn't matter that much when he doesn't bluff often enough.

Hand 3 like someone above said just bet half pot and hope he folds AT/AJ/AK, he's never folding any pair but he'll probably fold better ace highs often enough for us to eke out a profit by bluffing river.

i think you want to develop a limping range in EP, and limp some of the terrible 2x hands as well as monsters and some merged stuff (assuming it's not a game where you get folds after opening the pot, so why raise 2x, or even a lot of other hands).

i don't think i would 3bet the super trashy 2x hands, but j2s+ would probably be auto 3bets, as well as 22, and some 24-25s.

this last part might be wrong, but if the pot is opened and there's like 3+ callers, and i have a 2x offsuit in the blinds, i would just fold. i don't think you're winning the pot that much in that spot. in position is close, but probably a call. generally, the more people in the pot, and the worse my position, the less likely i am to try and chase this prop.

Re: Some fun 10/25 hands

1. check or bet/call

If I have a good read on v1, with particular to how he thinks about the game, I could feign thin value and hope I induce. Otherwise, I just auto check here.

2. I would c/r before I ch/call, but this has to be a c/f even with the read that he cant vbet thin.

3. fold flop. betting here sucks because you rep nothing.
