no one's mentioned anything about turn. does everyone go into pot control mode on this turn? with this villain?

I'd bet more preflop, 2/3 flop and 1/2 pot call any on turn. Why do people think we should be checking this turn?

Having considered it a little more, I check back turn in some spots like this. However, given this game dynamic and "lol you can't have aces twice in a row" against same villain, I think he's more likely to spew off with KK, QQ.

As played, call river. You get called by better in this spot more than you do by worse.

problem with raising is not that he can have much better, because he really can't. Its just that there isn't much he can call with. you are repping better than you have with a river raise here. Since he can't have you beat and you've seen him be spewy before and, even when its thin, i sometimes like to test spots like this where its pretty hard for you to be beat and see if your opponent will make a mistake.

Just for clairity here this is not a standard raise as it is more of a merge as any hand worse than yours is purely a bluff catcher.

Cool hand, i like checking turn and I'd just call here on the river. Surprised I seem to be in the minority here considering I almost always err on the side of going for thin value in close spots.

I think we have the best hand a ton here; problem is I'm having trouble finding hands that can call a raise besides exactly JJ

This is my question. FWIW I bet turn a ton but if you get stuffed on do you really level yourself that villain can be spazzing with worse here? KKx and QQx combos being the main spazz culprits. Those coupled with your actual equity would make this a ghey sigh call.
