Re: Official 2011 Las Vegas Regulars Thread
I've said this over and over, but I can't stand that the B has a monopoly on the 10/20+ games. The room itself sucks and the floor people are *******s. There is no reason for the games to not spread to the Wynn, Aria, or the Venetian except for the ridiculous mindset of the players who go to the B because it's the B. Each of those other rooms are much more pleasant to sit in and the floor staffs are grateful for the business and treat people in those games like gold when they do run. I've actually gone to those other rooms sometimes to play 5/10 (which I almost never play) simply because I didn't want to play at the B.
Regardless, during the WSOP, those rooms should have 10/20+ running, which is nice.

Re: Official 2011 Las Vegas Regulars Thread
Since I can't play online anymore I'm thinking about coming out to the serious in the beginning of June for a few weeks. The past few years I've just came for the week of the main event, stayed around 7-8 days, and felt totally burned out and super happy to leave when I got out of there. This year I really feel like I should be out there playing a few of the smaller events and taking shots in bigger games. Right now, My plan is to go like June 1st or something, stay for 2weeks and see how I'm feeling. If I'm feeling good I'll probably try and stay for the whole series. If not I may just fly home for a couple weeks then come back for the main. I'm not really sure about what's the best way to do this in terms of housing. I don't really wanna stay in a casino for the whole time but I'd like to be on the strip. If anyone's in a similar situation to me let me know, or if you just have advice thats good to. thanks

Last summer series' was the first I made it out to. While super eager to play, I over estimated my stamina and desire to be away from friends and family for 2 months. I paid for 2 months of a house share and was happy to leave July 14th, so fwiw I like your plan of 2-3 weeks so much better.
Play the high value huge field 1, 1.5 and 2.5k nlhe events for the two weeks as well as any other games you specialize in, take a week+ off, and come back referesed for the main.
Learning from Last year, I am going for 3 weeks to 1 month, leaving in the middle for a family event, and having my girlfriend and family visit me. could go on in more detail. pm me if youd like.

I'm also planning on playing in Vegas for the last half of June. Let me know if you can use another roommate

Re: Official 2011 Las Vegas Regulars Thread
for those of you who wanna be on the strip but not in a casino, I would recommend Vdara it's like an apartment hotel, but has no casino in the building which was a huge plus for me. It's also right next door to aria and bellagio so location is second to none. I think i paid about 2k for a month which I thought was an amazing bargain.

Why is having no casino in the building a huge plus for you (or anyone)?

cos it's nice to be able to walk into your hotel and go up to your room without having to navigate 10,000 slot machines and random drunken inbred Americans

2k for a month does seem like a great bargain. Nice alternative to a poker house for a WSOP stay.

For the last two WSOP, I rented a house with some friends. It was fun, but it was a little to long for me. It was a live poker overdose.
This year, I will rent a room in a poker house between may 31th and june 10th. I will come back home and return to Vegas on july 6th, checking-in at the Palms, to play the Main Event.
I really think that a break from Vegas is EV+ before the Main Event. You don't want to be tired of Vegas for the most EV+ tournament of the year.
