Any of you guys gonna be in vegas for wsop ?

I usually go there for cash during main event week. Might fire a bullet into main depending on how good or bad the cash games are but I doubt it.

Might shoot out to LA afterwards too

I'll be there starting June 15, will stay at least 10 days, maybe more depending on the games are and how I'm playing/running in them. Usually play at either Bellagio or Encore/Wynn.

I'll be there over Memorial Day weekend for a bachelor party so 99% not going to make a second trip this year

Spoiler alert the cash games will be terrible. The state of poker is pretty gross and a few years ago the mid-stakes games were essentially unplayable with Euro kids saying range, polar, capped, thin value, and many other words that should never be uttered within a mile of a card room. I can't imagine this won't be even worse now.

If DGAF wants to do the dinner meet up, drinking small game I could be persuaded. I have already booked a Cabo trip intentionally to prevent from doing something dumb like going to play the main but late June could be a possibility. DGAF, if you read this and have any interest shoot me a text. Otherwise I'll assume you want to be left alone.

If DGAF is up for it. we can set up another interest thread. Sounds good to me.

I have to agree that games may be getting worse - the 10-20 at Bellagio last year during WSOP seemed to be puro grinders. But can always hope for a miracle.

I played cash during main event week and the 10-20 bellagio wasn't awful. Not great but not awful. The deep Aria 5/10 was decent too.

I will add that the PLO seemed fantastic though

Games are ****ty at the beginning of the WSOP as everyone arrives mid-heater and plays their best. But then Vegas and variance start to sink their teeth into people and games get much better as the summer goes on. You gotta make the best hand though (throughout the series), which is kinda lame...

I don't want to be a planner, but I'm out here all the time and would be down for dinner and red chip poker after, as is tradition. If you are trying to play serious the other nights, plan your trip during the seniors event or the ladies event imo.

Being an OMC I definitely plan around the seniors event.

The last couple of times it has not worked well trying to get advance commitments. So when I get to town June 15 I'll put up an interest thread here and see if we get some bites.

We've recently seen a few we like on Amazon. What genres do you prefer?

For example, Trapped is a mystery from Iceland via BBC that is well done.

Others that come to mind are

Fortitude (thriller/SF mix) I think came out of Norway.
Goliath (Billy Bob Thornton as a down and out lawyer)
Defiance (a SciFI channel series that's on Amazon)

I'm assuming you've already seen the main HBO series like Westworld and the American Gods series on Starz

It is hard to watch TV and refresh BTC charts every 5 min.

just draw a vertical line on the wall next to the tv imo. i guess you probably should put an arrow too so you dont glance over and think its crashing

lol it is a sickness. I wake up to piss and as I walk back to bed I see my phone or iPad on the night stand and have to resist so hard. It's dumb but having a 24/7 sweat feeding the degen side is pretty fun. The silly part is the my monetary value in crypto is dwarfed by the 401 and other investments yet I totally ignore the day to day stock market charts. It makes very little sense other than that the stock market is something I have trained myself to ignore and it also doesn't fluctuate to nearly the same extent.
