How do you like my line

Live game 5/10
my stack: 3600
villain's stack: 3000

villan was new to the table and only played a few hands. He seems to be tight preflop and agressive after flop. My image is LAG on table but not sure what's my image in his mind.

Below is the first hand we interacted. I was utg with 10 10, villain is mp, button strattled to 20. I limp in and villain called, button called, bb called. pot is $85

flop K 9 4 rainbow. bb check, I check, villain bet 50, button fold, bb fold, I call.
turn A, no flush draw here. I check, villian bet 100, I raised to 350, turning value into bluff.

How do you like my line?

I dislike everything about it.

You should never limp pre, as you need to isolate the straddle for value. Turn c/r seems suicidal. By taking such a weak line throughout the hand you have no real information, fold.

Re: How do you like my line

This hand is a mind****

Can't really see any hand that makes sense for Vilain except A4 and A9 (not many combos), and 44-99 that bet flop and turn (AK, AA, KK would raise pre)

Yeah you're repping these hands, but it usually sucks trying to rep the hand your opponent holds, so i can't really say i like it.

Only thing good in this hand is you can rep (with your checkcall flop) a bit more nuts hands than he can (bc im not sure he would bet A9 and even less A4 after 2 checks) but you might check call A9s, A4s i guess with a bd flush after the other 2 guys folded, so you're know you're gonna be HU.
But yeah that's pretty close, bc you may bet 44 and 99 on the flop, so even if you have more A9,A4 than he does that's only a few combos (A4 and A9s i guess and you might fold some of them since you're utg anyway)

I guess he simply had 44 or 99.

Sometimes people DO have the hands they're repping

EDIT : i dislike it in fact, because after some thinking i realized you shouldn't c/raised hands like A4 or A9 on the turn, it doesn't make sense to c/r these hands let him barrel.
So yeah in fact you only rep 44 or 99 and in fact he could have more A4 and A9 than you (he may bet the flop with them trying to take the pot, and it will usually work if nobody has a K, except some gutshots that might call, any other hand can really continue)

up to here its "okay" assuming villain is remotely aggressive and doesn't need a K to bet.

Re: How do you like my line

Can't say I like the play either raise pre or get out cheap on the flop. I doubt he would put you on a big Ace the way it played out.

Re: How do you like my line

Your line is crap. Your line is basically air only, weak aces, and a set of 4's.

Raise pre, cbet flop, most likely c/f or b/f turn.

As played fold flop.

Re: How do you like my line

If you really ponder about it, are you really turning value into bluff here? Is he betting the K on the turn that often rather than pot controlling?

How often does he bluff with Ax on flop and hit on turn----and being a live player, not folding it.

How often do we really fold out a better hand, thus making the raise capital just thrown away money.

These questions should lead to the right conclusions to the issue.

Re: How do you like my line

The only better hands hes folding are the occasional A highs that bet the flop that didn't raise pre which is probably not many. Right now you are raising into a range of bluffs, twopairs, and sets. If he folds you were ahead anyways.

Re: How do you like my line

Take everything you did in this hand and do the opposite. Raise pre, b/f flop, c/f river.

Re: How do you like my line

agreed, only reason we are limping here is to conceal a monster if we flop it. just fold and wait for a better spot. if we are going to take an aggressive stance might as well raise pre and c bet
