River is a wtf and honestly I call because both villians are ******ed.
Let me clarify. It was a mistake. I am just explaining my thought process that led to making it. Great post btw! I like your style.

Grunch

Lead river.

As played...

The best flush V2 can have here is Q high and he is overjamming into two people one of which has bet twice into two people on three streets and the other has check called OOP to two people. I just don't see any station, even one who overvalues hands, jamming into two people here with a worse hand ever.

MEANWHILE, V1 just mashes river into both of you. The backdoor flush got there and I think most people check overpairs in this spot so he can definitely have a lot of full houses here.

As played super easy fold but you gotta at least tank a bit and try really hard to convince yourself it's a call all the while knowing you're folding and you hate poker.

I'd play this hand diff on every street, but having played a ton with restaurant owners and such I'd call river and expect the 500 to fold and my hand to be good most of the time. 8+ gets raised ott.

I told you this in person StandardDv, I still think 3bet flop is best, and I would lead the river for $350-$375 as played.

V2 is capable of value betting worse hands as if they are the nuts, but also playing the nuts in a way that gets no value, the sudden all-in over a big bet is his style. The way it played out is gross, and I think is pretty close either way.

I think this is a good spot to think about, because against any reasonable villains its an easy fold. Good to question the standard lines against non-standard villains!

I could not think of who Standardeviate was referring to for the longest time, but it just clicked in my head for some reason. I won't blow up your spot, your secret is safe here.

He wasn't referring to me as the big winner, but I'm another local lollive pro and was in the game. I only take it as mild disrespect SD didn't refer to my point of view .

3bet preflop for value. You are not 3betting for them to fold, you are doing it bc you crush their flatting range. I like playing bigger pots in situations where I crush my opponents. You shouldnt mind them calling.

K, I realize this thread got a bit snarky, but I'm ready/curious for this. Thx.

I put all sorts of stupid shyte in the range of villain 2, I can call his shove HU. Villian 1 played his hand as I have seen him play a flopped set more than once. This combined with the fact that the river bet committed him, I found a fold.

I folded, villain 1 folded. Someone I know sweated vil 2's hand, and confirmed that he river'd a straight with Q9cc. Villain 2 told me that he did not notice the river was a diamond (seriously.)

DGAF; This pro I discussed deserves the utmost respect, and privacy, and I have become close to him over the past several months. For those reasons I am sending you the specifics your looking for in a PM.
