5/10 Too spew?

5/10 local B&M, decided to take a small shot in large part because it was a busy night and usual 3/5, 2/3 game list was packed but also because it was a short handed game (5 plrs, 2 i had experience playing with though admittedly 1 of the 2 the exp was very limited <100 hands limited).

This is my 3rd orbit since sitting down of which I've been somewhat active, have only had to showdown twice but the two times in which i showed down I A) had quad 10s (thinly veiled brag )
B) used pot control to get to showdown and scooped it with MPTK
basically even though it's been very brief in the session i still feel like i do have somewhat of a credibility. bought in for 1k up .5 BI.

Villain in hand has just lost ~80 or so blinds and is basically swearing at the dealer for god only knows what, he looks to see me limp and basically gorilla fists the chips in and says something under his breath. it has occured to me that he could possibly have a huge hand and be trying to rep he's tiliting, however it really feels like Q10, KJ etc. (i have more to say about the action on this street but ill wait to see if this post even gathers steam).

if this is real, i don't understand how you can ask for thoughts....

fold preflop. or raise. call is the worst option.

flop, same thing.

Re: 5/10 Too spew?

yeah i agree 100% this is a fold-raise preflop and that was basically my thoughts in the moment but what kept me from it was that im not always raising with the top of my range in position, i have position on a player i feel is competent but he has enough bad tendencies to where he'll overplay a hand like 55 and ship PF, i cant call off with Q4, however i feel like he will give me credit if I rep the hand right, i can outplay him PF and take it on the later street if i rep something realistic like A10, K9 suited, etc. i felt like i had to play my hand similarly to when i played my big hand in order to get the extra credibility. but 100% i agree that pf should be a raise. flop raise maybe, but if he has QQ, any K even weak pair+draw <<<this is probably a stretch... but i think hes going to be more inclined to ship than fold. I definitely feel like not raising the flop was the weakest part of the line but more or less the fact that we're shorthanded and i had been fairly active so i felt it wouldve taken a lot of the PF repop credit away. that and well...i dont like to fold my button..

Re: 5/10 Too spew?

figured id get flamed but i still need to see it to let it sink in.. my biggest problem with this line is no preflop raise and as soon as i was done with the session later in the night this was still the only part about the session that bugged me...but idk apparently nothing about the rest of the line is standard so i guess all around FAIL on my part
