I feel like polarizing gives our opponent too easy EV+ decisions on the river.

Again my opinion. Also I'm not saying that it's the most EV+ here but I feel like if we're looking for protection it seems better.
So you just fold diamonds to his flop raise?

I don't but the diamond draws I have are far outnumbered compared to 99+. Maybe like Td9d, KdQd, AdQd, AdKd, maybe AdTd, 9d8d or something like that (4-6 combos) vs AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AdJd, JdTd, 99 (+30 combos). I'm not even claiming to play all of them like this but they're possible combos. Also having one of these draws makes it more likely that the opponent doesn't have one so the hand won't play this way.

Apologies for the Reminiscent-of-a-certain-forum-member-who-shall-not-be-named bump but I don't understand why any of you would think that 77 or even JJ would raise flop ?

That's a terrible line with any SDV hand which can profitably bluff-catch IMO, unless he's trying to get value from floats/diamonds or is frightened of certain turn cards. It's also pretty bad with 4 x, but that's just my opinion lalala

JJ often 3bets pre, probably doesn't raise flop and only has 3 combos, as does 77 which likely doesn't play that way either, 4x probably bets turn, compared to however many more FD + CD combos which only have to bluff a pretty small frequency to make this profitable. I'd be slightly worried about weirdly played 4x or JJ but not much else esp when every straight/flush draw bricked and his line makes no sense.

I agree with Beau. We are either way ahead or way behind here, pot control and getting to showdown seem in order. Hopefully villain value bets his worse value hands and his air, therefore giving us a nice pot and information for future ranges/hands against him. I don't mind bet/folding river if that was your in game plan, but betting river here without a plan for the times villain raises prob means we should be check/calling in this spot.
