5-10 overbet pot with huge hand

5-10 effective stack 2100. I'm viewed as laggy good player. Villain is middle aged Hispanic who has card racked his way to 3k. I recently 3 bet a kid pre w 27, cbet flop, and showed.

I have AKh utg and raise to 30 (less than my standard 40 raise) and villain calls on the button.

Flop (75): Ac4h7h
- I check, he bets 100, I call -- thoughts?
Turn (275): 9c
- villain bets 500 into 275 -- wtf? Thoughts???

Was your plan to c/c your way to the river? Why not lead or even c/r the flop?

To be honest my plan was to cr flop allowing him to rep/value bet aces but when he overbet the pot my plan changed. My preflop sizing and flop check are both non standard plays in my game but I throw some of these in 10% of the time to mix it up.

Then the question becomes, have you seen villain overbet before to "protect" his hands or could he possibly be doing this with a hand like 65 or 65?

Vs an unknown, I would have lead flop. As played, c/r flop.
Vs an unknown, I would have lead turn. As played, call turn and re-eval otr.

vs a unknown I think folding turn is ok, But I think for future references vs unknowns you might just want to bet flop.

C/r flop smallish to like 275, but fold to repops As played, I am getting my station on, even though card rack is going to have A4ish type hand a lot. You bet really small pre and a lot of players will think your hands strength is directly correlated to your bet sizing. It is a tough spot, but I am call/evaluating. I think river could be a solid spot to blocker bet, although it is super gross if he just stuffs on you.

I'm almost sure I replied to this thread... I guess my advice was so bad that a mod deleted it.

I guess everyone already knows what I'd recommend anyway.

You should have some reads on villain to help the discussion. Also do you have a fd or just the Kh?

So why did his sizing change your mind on the flop? I would have b/3b in this spot myself, but just curious as to why you decided to flat once he bet 133% of the pot.

Yeah this, kind of changes the hand dramatically.

If you have a flush draw, I guess I can see why you checked although I still think betting is way better. Without a FD checking the flop seems pretty bad, it's the kind of flop where he'll likely peel with a ton of hands that don't neccessarily have to be Ax but likely not bluff at too often if he has total air.

Thought I posted but I have AhKh. No reads unfortunately since he's always had it and I haven't seen him bluff. In response to other posters I didn't repop when he bet 133% bc it's a way ahead way behind situation. If someone overbets the pot with a weak A I'm folding out everything rose and getting called by better. Just don't see a point over 200bb deep in bloating the pot oop.
