5/10 nl hand

Villian- Mid 20s fairly competent tag. Started out pretty nitty but recently got it all in 3 way with mid pair so he seems to be a little more comfortable with the table and playing to his image.

Hero- Playing on the looser side of tag and very aggressive post flop. Has shown down 3 hands in ~4 hours and they were all very big hands.

Pre- Hero raises to 40 utg with JJ folds to villian in the co who calls everyone else folds.

Flop (95) 942 w/2 spades - I lead 55 he calls slowly.

Turn (205) Ko - I bet 120 he tank calls.

River (445) 10o - I bet 220 villian stuffs for 800 more.

My reads during the hand were that villian was pretty weak on the flop, flush draw pair or maybe even 2 overs. When he goes all in on the river I know he could bluff in this spot and I also don't think it is likely that he would play many 1 pair hands this way.

Isn't the river a c/c?

Re: 5/10 nl hand

Were you inducing a flush draw to shove with that bet. I like it as a bet fold spot but I don't see this guy shove a busted draw with such little fold equity

He probably checks back 9s and 10s if he gets there with like q10 or j10 spades. So that's why I like b/f more than c/c

Re: 5/10 nl hand

River bet was kind of a blocker bet as I felt that pretty much all 1 pair hands would call and a lot of them wouldn't bet. I thought he may also be a little steamed since he had just stacked off last orbit to me. If I am b/f should I change my betting? I don't think c/c is viable here since medium pairs I doubt he is going for value.

b/f....c/c is awful here. U could bet like 300 instead...220 looks like thin value a little too much then u start leveling urself into calling thinking u induced a bluff etc. I can't really see a reason to b/c either w/o some better reads.

Re: 5/10 nl hand

Yeah I think it's fine. I can go either way here 1/2 pot is okay. But ^^ 300 is probably the norm and I've been experimenting with like 1/3 pot blocking bets otr. I don't think I get raised that much more the problem is I get less $$ when he just calls the river

Re: 5/10 nl hand

A lot of hands get there on the river, K10 spades, QJ, 910, 1010?

I don't like the flop Cbet sizing. Against a player who will call with any pair and probably over cards, you're just losing way too much value. You could bet 80 on the flop here and always get called by the same range most likely. That's like 75% more value.

I like the bet/fold on the river. Check call is horrid. Check fold is an option against certain players.

bigger cbet for sure (value)

river is a b/f (blocker-bet not applicable here - or most places quite frankly)
