Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

Well that's why you don't check the turn cause even bad players are gonna realize you don't have **** when you minraise the river after checking turn/river, at least i wouldn't expect the biggest idiot in the world to fold any pair

i agree my PF sizing was a mistake

Versus 4 combos of 64s.
64s isn't the only value hand he has.

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

You MUST pop this pre. AJ is essentially AK here (even in the most loose passive games people at 5/10 will usually raise pre with AK/AQ) but they will still limp/call worse Axs.

I fold river because bluff catching live villains with Ace high usually is a losing play since a bunch of these guys have no concept of showdown value. So they may actually be bluffing with a better hand than yours. Also, you should add in the fact that live players simply don't bluff as much as they probably should. Adds up to a fold imo, but I guess based on board texture I can see why its pretty close.

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

looks like kq to me. you cant bluff raise here he is calling. so fold

make it 110$ preflop.

he isnt turning pocket pairs into bluffs lol.. how can he snap call flop 8 ways with 66 for $240..

small chance he has club combos, but if he was drawing 64 got there too..

i think he would bluff his club combos on the turn tho since you can never have anything since you checked a drawy board

So, youre line would be - r/b/ch/ch/minraise? Seems extremely weighted towards air or a mis flushed draw to me. How could a hand with any value take this line?

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

While it may seem like a good spot to hero call, I think the fact that 5 people called your raise preflop makes it less likely that villain is bluffing. When he calls otf, the only hand combos you beat are smaller FD's and 64 (and 64 made it there otr). I think I would rather semi-bluff ott rather than make the hero call otr. Or you could always go for that weird c/r otr, but I'm not sure if villain will believe you. Would be interesting if you tried that

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

Betting turn OOP is so hard but I think you have to pull the trigger. If he calls with KQ and thinks you have AK gj on him calling pre. I can't see Q-10 calling here as long as villain is seen as sane.

I'm torn as to whether or not to make a hero call. My thinking is if he had a Qx hand with so much show down value would he want to or is he capable of betting this river for thin value?? Or is he betting now bc it's the only way his busted clubs can win etc??

I actually had a similar spot in a 2/5 game the other day where I made the made the hero call with AQ high to see him flip Q5 for air.
