5/10 Hero Call?

I don't know much about villian he is white, in his 40's , seems like a reg,

In hind sight I think I like betting turn, But as played...

5/10 game 7 limpers i make it 70 in the BB with AJ

Pot (350ish)flop is Q53 I get 5 callers, I bet 240, Guy UTG snap calls, everyone else folds

Pot (830)Turn is a 5 , I check he checks pretty fast,

Pot (830) River is a 2 I check he bets 500 pretty fast. I...?

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

Check I always check here in the bb I'm going to be OOP and in a bloated pot when called (likely in a few spots)

He has some Qs in his range Prob q10 qj and kq. Some live players limp/call aq too. He alson has 33 and 1combo of 55 however unlikely.

I think against the above range this is a fold. There aren't enough pure missed fd bluffs to make a call profitable against a white 40s guy

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

I don't like calling here, but with his quick actions, he would have definitely taken more time to think on both streets with a Q.

64 does get there though....

I think I probably call.

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

I'd probably call, especially with the timing. He's repping a weak queen, but I don't see why he's betting so large and so fast on the river with a weak queen. Most people would bet smaller, to get a call from your JJ, and they would have to think about it for a while. I think he has a worse flush draw often enough for you to call.

Also, most Qx hands bet the turn.

KTcc K9cc K8cc K7cc K6cc K4cc T9cc T8cc 98cc 97cc 87cc 86cc 76cc is 13 combos for busted clubs.

Versus 4 combos of 64s.

Against 70% of players, I fold, including those who I am readless on.

Against the other 30%, constituting spews, young inexperienced internet converts, and other people who take random stabs at pots without regard for board texture, this is a snap call.

Meh, i call here too.

I do think betting the turn makes the river a lot easier. He probably isn't 1/2-2/5 bad, but if he's a bad reg "living out his dream of playing professional pokerz at the 5/10 table" he could be turning a bad SDV hand into a bluff for some retarded reason as in this anecdote: a couple nights ago i heroed w/ A high the player showed me a pair of ducks (1 in hand, 1 on board) on basically the same textured board, so happy i called sad he actually did have A high beat.

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

Raise pre-flop is really good. Most live players miss value in these spots, I think. You didn't mention stack sizes or anything, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume 100 BBs.

You're never c-betting as a bluff in this spot i would imagine when you get called by 5 people and you're first to act. I would just check/shovels this in as that's what i would do with KQ+ and it's not like you're gonna hate any turn cards

as played i would stuff the turn after c-betting. i think 40 year old reg has too much Qx in his UTG limp/call range to hero call river

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

If u raise pre, I would make it bigger, in the 100 - 110 range. As played, the river timing is key. For most players who aren't trying to level u, the snap river bet can often indicate a bluff. This seems like a pretty spot to hero.

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

wtf checking pre seems horrendous. We have a hand that plays really well and is way ahead of any of the limpers' ranges. I agree he's bluffing a lot on the river but kinda sucks that he can be bluffing with better sometimes. I consider minraising river just to get him off bull**** one pair bluffs or maybe just shove and he probably folds pretty much his entire range.

man, see this is how i was handling situations similar to this but a couple players better than me told me it was ludicrous, but simply considering past experience i think a min raise is probably good for very specific situations like this one.

Re: 5/10 Hero Call?

I mean he limp/called pre has to have a decent number of pairs in his range right?
