Hi all, villain in this hand has been active in a few hands at this point, but hasn't shown down a hand after raising his opponents out in a few hands. We both have 2500ish to start the hand. I haven't been active much to this point

Preflop villain opens in MP to 40 all folds to me in be I look down at AA and re raise to 120 goes back to villain who tanks for 30 seconds or so then 4 bets to 400. I call planning on getting it in on most flops. I check in the dark to the flop of

Flop 10 J Q rainbow 800 in pot after drop

Not quite the flop I had in mind.... Villain bets 800$ and I??

Why are you checking in the dark?

Fold unless you think he's bad enough to bet Kings here considering you don't beat anything else.

Just get it in pre out of position. This is the worst flop you can get. He 4-bet so he prob has top set but can have KK and doesn't realize he is bluffing. You should prob check fold (it's close) but this wouldn't be a problem if you just 5bet pre.

I'd definitely 3bet bigger, but I don't mind flatting 4bet.

Fold flop.

Hi all, I went with a curveball on this one I was actually the villain in this hand. The guy who had pocket aces ended up shipping it on me on the flop and I had AK so that was nice. How do u like my line here (preflop I was going to fold to a huge five bet). Not sure why bb dark checked I hate checking in the dark lol

Don't check in the dark, ever.

When you 3-bet out of the BB your hand always looks very strong. When V 4-bets you his is telling you he has JJ+ almost all of the time. You should 5-bet to 850.

I like the big c-bet, BB's range smashes this board.

How can you get it in on most flops if you check before you even see the flop?

So confused.

Lol I'm having trouble explaining my motivations as I was actually the villain here. I imagine bb was planning to check raise huge on most flops here

Don't check dark, it's stupid. Smart people can read your intentions and ranges.

Villain 4betting does NOT tell us he has JJ pre unless he's really really bad. Good players without some stupid not-good-poker-dynamics should not be 4betting JJ ever. Obv we're talking live poker so whatever. If he's sane and doesn't think you're awful he should be polarized to AK KK+ maybe AK AA, and also be flatting AK some in that spot. idk why we're talking about preflop (look at me referencing tom dwan).

BB definitely does NOT smash the flop. Hero does more by far. We can have AK, all sets, two pairs, pair + draw. We have v little folding if he doesn't read us as laggy (we prob don't fold 97s or whatever if we decide to 3bet that but I almost never 3bet that in that exact spot so whatever, I think BB vs MP 3bet should be very low as default, and deviate as necessary). He has more AA KK than us which granted is not a lot of combos but those hands hate this board and this is def not a spot where his range is stronger than ours.

Bet sizing is awful on the flop no matter what you have.

Flatting AA pre is fine stop beings nits "omg I have AA I am afraid to play flops". 5betting is fine flatting is fine, who cares, do both sometimes.

Kinda feels like we're missing some element of the dynamic/actual thought process of Big Blind/any tangible info on BB that makes this anything more than you felted a dude who cant fold AA after potting flop given preflop action?

If I had AA in the BB in this situation I'd c/c. This is known as AABBCC poker.

Villain needs to write a book.

Flatting pre with the nuts and finding the worst board possible to check jam all in: a NLHE strategy.
