DGAF... As far as I can tell, your only real problem is not getting paid for the stuff you write.

Dgaf I think you would be proud, restarted the 5/T at you know where and the straddle is going. Plus everyone is on board with making it a drinking game... I give this thread 50% of the credit

Seems like an odd time to come into a thread and criticize/make fun of someone who isn't posting anymore

Maybe - always think of the word emotional as a criticism

Did not mean to be critical just pointing out the irony

Emotional does have a negative connotation to it, because it implies one's decisions lack logic. Though that is not always the intention.

Re: 2k- a poker story (wtmfl;dr obv)

I've been thinking about the training site/poker content argument. I don't think it matters too much whether they are good for poker. The fact of the matter is that they exist and are now a big part of the poker world. I don't buy the argument that they should be boycotted because they are strengthening the player pool in a system where there are a lack of games. There is nothing inherently wrong about coaching someone to be better at something they wish to improve at. We can't just go back to 2004 when all the games were juicy just like we can't go back to a time when Doyle and Slim were ahead of the curve because they kept dealing out hands to figure out the odds, because internet. Times change and the poker world has to change with them. To me its kind of like trying to solve the world's hunger problem by making people eat less meat. The reality is that eventually people will be eating "meat" that comes from somewhere other than a dead animal. Better to eat that then to starve I think. I also hope this doesn't derail this thread into some Monsanto argument/disaster. Anywho...

I understand that if there are less fish(or theoretically none) that the games will be less profitable for good/elite players at the higher limits. But isn't this happening at an extremely slow rate? It takes years to become a good poker player so what are the chances that your regular game will suddenly just dry up?

Having been doing this for a while I know DGAF would not recommend anyone try to become a fulltime cash game poker pro. So maybe if that route is no good(and possibly just getting worse) anyway, its time to be open for other options even for the current fulltime pros? Play more tournaments, start other businesses, pursue other interests, etc. I mean if there are so few(if any) high stakes cash game pros who have been doing this 10+ years that are happy/live overall balanced lives then will this training site argument really change any of that?

I've learned a good amount from all the free content that's out there on the internet in the last 5 months since I started playing again. So I know I'll be better off than the guy who is not studying. And every poker room, online or live, is still filled with tons of those players. I can't even conceive of being in a position where I was mad at training sites for making people better to the point that there were no fish left in my games. Even if that did happen it would be 5-8 years from now. By then the poker world could be totally different and everyone would be arguing over something else besides the effect of training sites.

Sorry that ended up being really long I suck at this thread DGAF please come back haha
