Re: 10/25 - 450 bb deep - river decision vs good reg?

I'm a losing 10/20 player, so please disregard my advice.

Preflop, I think fold > call > raise.

There are 9 combos that beat us, [AA AJ 44].

If villain had just sat down, I think the river is an easy fold. The average player does not have a single worse hand in his value range and the average player almost never 4-barrel bluffs, especially on a board like this, especially with this sizing.

However, OP provided us with this read: "Villian is very good reg, lag plyr. He views me as nitty overall."

Is this read good enough to turn a fold into a call? Dunno, probably not. QJs/JTs is still just two combos. KQhh, one more... QJo? All of these seem like a stretch to me, and they are still only like one combo each.

I wonder if it's possible to find a fold on the turn?

the better he is, the less likely for him to vbet the river for thin value given your nitty image.

no clue though. prolly sigh/call and then realize it's sigh/fold because he's never vbetting worse.

Hard to fold this and I'd probably sigh and call as others have said but my guess is you look at AJ or 44 a lot.

I snap called river n lost, i was way ahead till river.

I thought villian could be v betting any worse J. I doubt he checks river with any Jx.
Also, possible that he is bluffing river trying to get me off an Ax which i would float with on the flop.

PF is kinda weird imo for villian to limp early, but I barely have any experience in straddle games. I think if villian bricks river he is likely to bet again. I think a hand like ak would be a little bit of a suspect river call. Maybe east coast games are that much different than west coast. I am not sure any good reg around me would fold in this spot, but it seems the players in vegas/LA area always have 'nittier' advice.

LA is the least nitty place in the country. The hand was well played, and it would take a soul read or a lot of info on villain to fold river. Either way, there are no leaks in hero's line.

Op, where are these games with the weird structures?
