Problems working my PokerTracker...

I keep getting this error message when I start the HUD...
Unable to begin feeder import process. Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3 DB). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

Re: Problems working my PokerTracker...

That error means that your PostgreSQL server (that houses the PT3 database) is not running, most likely because your firewall is configured to block it. Please make sure that Postgres.exe is allowed full access to port 5432 and that should resolve the situation for you the next time you restart PT3.

Re: Problems working my PokerTracker...

I tried making the exception to allow PokerTracker past the firewall but that still isn't working. Also, I guess I am using Windows Firewall.

Silly question: have you tried rebooting your computer?

Re: Problems working my PokerTracker...

Is postgres now running? Do you see any postgres processes in Task Manager -> Processes ?

Assuming you can..

Do you have any data in your PT3 database?
IF you do, you will want to reconnect it: Database Management -> New; enable 'this database exists' and then browse to find it.

Otherwise..
Close down PT3 and edit this file:
C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg
Find the [Database] section and remove all the lines beginning with DBX. - when you restart PT3 this will cause it to create a new database for you.

No, I go to "Start Service" under Postgres and it says it has started but when I check my Task Manager under Processes it does not show it is running. I have unistalled and reinstalled Postgres TWICE now, and it still does not show it is running. Not sure what else I have to do. PokerTracker was working fine for me about 3 months ago but since has not worked at all.

Re: Problems working my PokerTracker...

What firewall/antivirus services are you running? Those programs can block PostgreSQL from starting and may need a specific exception added for PostgreSQL.

Windows Firewall, Windows Defender, and McAfee antivirus software. I tried adding PostgreSQL to the exceptions in my Firewall but it wont let me add the whole folder. Liek I said....this was working like 3 months ago.

Re: Problems working my PokerTracker...

Please see this post. Others have had problems with McAfee, and that post will walk you through adding the exception.
