Re: postgresql problems

Go to http://www.postgresql.org and click Download. If you used 8.2.x previously and have a backup to restore you will need an 8.2.x version. Otherwise you can choose between the latest 8.3.x or 8.4.x as you prefer (if you go for 8.4.x you'll want to use our latest Beta version though as it has some 8.4.x specific improvements).

Re: postgresql problems

Click Start, type in services.msc and hit enter. Look for PostgreSQL in the list and attempt to start it - does it start?

Re: postgresql problems

Please uninstall and reinstall PostgreSQL as explained on our documentation page - it gives precise directions for 8.3 and 8.4 and if you follow them things should work properly. If it doesn't, please create a support ticket for this issue and we will help you get everything working properly.

Re: postgresql problems

No, uninstalling PostgreSQL will not delete the data directory.

Re: postgresql problems

Please make sure you have the command exactly right, including the spaces in the right places:
net user postgres /delete

If you still have problems check out the 'how to reinstall postgres' guide in the Documentation, but if you still can't get the command to work please post the exact error message (or a screenshot of it).

Re: postgresql problems

Did you disable UAC (as advised in the How to reinstall PostgreSQL guide) or run the command prompt as Administrator?
Right click Command Prompt in the Start menu and choose Run as Administrator and try it again, or read the linked guide which walks you through everything you need to do.

If you still can't get it sorted please url=https://www.pokertracker.com/support/newticket.php?cat_id=178]schedule a remote assistance session[/url] where someone can logon to your computer with you and directly troubleshoot/resolve the issue.
