Howto: Colouring PokerTracker 3 Statistics Howto: Colouring PokerTracker 3 Statistics

EDIT: Sorry! I meant to post this in the PokerTracker sub forum but was browsing software at the time and posted here. Could a Software mod please move this for me? My sincere apologies!

Disclaimer: I realise that VP$IP,PFR and AF are now coloured in the latest beta however I originally wrote this article for my blog and at the time of writing this wasn't the case. Either way - I still feel this information is extremely handy for anybody wanting to make custom, coloured HUD layouts.

Right! To open this i'd like to stick it to spell check for trying to tell me to title this 'coloring' - Not going to happen!

Now, onto the juicy stuff!

Wouldn't it be good if you could get the PokerTracker 3.x HUD to look like the screenshot on the website right out of the box? For reference here is the image from the PokerTracker website:

Unfortunately when you first install PokerTracker 3 and fire up the HUD you don't actually have coloured stats - they're simply white on a translucent, greyish background. PokerTracker v2.0+ with AceHud on the other hand comes with coloured ranges for VP$IP, PFR and AF right out of the box! So how do we go about getting these old colouring ranges which we are all used to into PokerTracker 3?

First of all you want to bring up the configuration for the HUD you want to modify (Cash or Tournament respectively):

In the window that appears click the "Stats" tab

On the right hand site of this window you should see a list of stats (these are the stats that show up in the active HUD). Click the stat that you want to change the range for as shown below:

Now go a bit down the window to where the tab bar is for this statistics and click "Color ranges":

Now we need to input some ranges! To do this click Add. In the window that appears you want to enter a minimum and a maximum range. After this double click the coloured box and set the colour for the range that you specified. For reference the ranges from PokerTracker v2.0 are/were:

VP$IP:

PFR:

Total AF:

If you like this guide and would like a template to start building your own custom HUD off then perhaps the following layout would be of some benefit to you:

You can download it by clicking here.

Ah! Sorry about not including that. The full instructions for installing the HUD can be found at http://rolledontheriver.com/2008/08/...-3-statistics/

I'm going to be updating it in the next few days as it isn't fully done so it may be best to check back in this thread in a week or so.

Michael

Is anybody interested in more articles like this one? If so covering what aspect of PT3?

Very nice, I like it!

This post was super helpful in getting me going with PT3. Thanks a bunch for making it. Off the top of my head I cannot think of another tutorial I need right now, but that could simply be because I am not a PT3 power user yet. I haven't had a proper chance to give it a try

Thank-you very much. If you think of anything you want a guide on then let me know.

Hi, where can I find the Fold to Flop Cbet in a 3bet Pot stats?
01-04-2009 , 05:47 PM
Very helpful. Thank you.

I'd love to see a better Auto Rate rules post. The default are OK, but they could use some "expert" attention.

I adjusted my auto rate rules a bit but don't know what file to upload, anyone?

AutoRatePT3.ate in the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3 folder

ok here it is, I couldn't find it because it was in my old DB but I extracted it from that one

I used VPIP/PFR/AF and WTS to rate the players, I used the ranges from an article on pokerstrategy.com and adjusted them a little bit
it's for SH games btw

here's the link to the file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QSA48VND

feel free to comment, send a pm,... if u think I made a mistake

custom Icon's would be great though!

I feel like I should also point out there's another more advanced way to use coloring for those that prefer: you can color one stat based on another. Personally I have PFR colored by a person's fold to 3bet percentage . . . then I can see at a glance if someone raises PF and they've got a 10% PFR and their PFR is in blue over a large hand sample that I can 3bet them pretty liberally as they'll fold 70-80% of the time.

See the How To: Advanced HUD Configuration for a detailed explanation of how to set up your stats in this fashion (and a copy of my stats, along with my layout).
