1. Different stats converge at different rates - it's more about how often certain situations come up then a certain number of hands.
VP$IP and PFR will approach their real values pretty quickly - even after 10 hands they will give you a decent idea and by 50 they will be pretty good.
Something like how often a player check-raises on the river will take a lot more hands to converge because you don't have chance to check-raise on the river anywhere near as often.
2. You can sometimes have a grey translucent layer appear but we only really see that for Aero users in Windows 7 and users of the Logitech Setpoint software. Do either of those apply to you?
3. VP$IP is a general measure of looseness, but only applies preflop. It measures how often someone chooses to put money in the pot preflop.
