What happened to Bryce? What happened to Bryce?

I felt really bad for him when he went through his financial problems and subsequent problems getting poker working for him again. He taught me much of what I know about HU and was instrumental in helping me become a winning player, so I really hope he is doing ok.

Does anyone know what he's up to?

Last time I saw Bryce on a table was right around Black Friday and he was multi tabling the 15-30s on stars and I think he was breaking about even in the games I was in. Dont know what happened after that. maybe he tore it up or maybe he stopped playing but he was also still making cardrunners videos too. He still make videos there? Guy was certainly a beast at making hu videos and I still use some of his tactics. A lot of stuff I remember him doing that was unorthodox at the time I see being implemented into 6 max games today by a lot of good players

I remember a blog post of his saying that he was stopping doing videos as he didn't feel it right to be coaching if he was only breaking even. I can only think he must have had terrible game selection skills for that to be have been the case.

A HU beast he was and I still remember being blown away watching his 1k/2k vids vs David Benyamin, both by the amount of money sliding back and forth and by what he was thinking while playing, which might be standard now, but was really ahead of his time back then.

I know that the few HS regs of the time were pretty pissed at him for letting the cat out the bag as far as those advanced concepts go as it opened the floodgates of other HU regs (me included so I'm not complaining). I wonder if he regrets that decision, he likely would have made far more money just playing and keeping his secrets than coaching and spilling the beans.

He had a lot of trouble once people ranges were merged. His style was good against polorize range. He help launch a lot of people huhu career and probably one of the biggest factor in destroying fish huhu pool with his vids. He was a super nice guy though :/ and always loved his vids. He was still playing on and off mid 2012 I believe but quit afterward.

After watching only a couple of his vids I was struck by how good he was at working thru a problem and figuring it out, so was shocked to hear of his poker demise.

What are some ex. of the advanced HUHU concepts that most weren't aware of at the time? checking back flop? No capping pre?

I still don't understand why he couldn't adjust to non-polarized ranges. The way he seemed to think about the game led me to believe he would always be on top of the latest trend in theory. Could it have been . . . . Variance?

He would crush the games (if there is any) now as well if he really wanted, but I read his blog and it seems to me he wasn't very passionate about poker anymore when he came back to it after all that time off. He needed cash and tried grinding lots of tables, but probably realized it wasn't worth his time with how bad the LHE tables were and the bleak prospects for the future. I just don't think he was all that interested in the competitive side of poker anymore, working a lot on his game, etc.

MacauBound, I'd say the checking back flop and no capping pre are more post-bryce developments, as he used to bet most flops and cap a lot of hands. But I'm sure he would develop new strategies today if he played seriously.
