Re: Video Review - PFA Match

When I first started posting in this forum, I actually got into a debate with the handful of remaining regs about this same issue. I provided a number of reasons why I thought just shooting down any attempt at a strat thread was a bad policy. Some people agreed, many did not.

Over time, I became convinced that the game selection problem trumps all other considerations. Even though most of my experience has been in the husngs, this still seemed like a valid problem to the extent that I obv hoped to one day transition to cash. It also didn't help that one of the few posters I tried to encourage turned out to be a botter.

As of right now, IDK. If I was part of a study group, I likely would have shared it with that group instead of posting here. At this point, though, I don't know what it can hurt. This forum hardly gets any traffic anyway. And I guess I'm still maybe idealistic enough to believe that the act of posting tends to help the person posting more than anyone else.

I guess I agree: It is a pity. And although it didn't start with me, I know I did my part in perpetuating it and now we've pretty much run this forum into the ground.

I guess it seemed like the thing to do at the time.

Re: Video Review - PFA Match

I understand that there's always a cost with discussing strategy in a public forum in that some people will free-ride the discussion without adding anything. But at least in my opinion the problems with heads-up limit hold 'em are structural: the game is relatively simple, it's easy to spot fish, and it's easy to bumhunt and guarantee never giving significant volume to a better player. These aren't really things that depend on some deep strategic insight.

The high stakes big bet players do tend to discuss strategy on 2+2 much more often than we in this forum. Even though their stakes are higher and the games are more complicated leading to a greater potential loss from giving away their secret sauce, they still find it beneficial to post information.

I know I personally benefited a lot from posting in this forum all these years ago so it's a shame it doesn't go on anymore.

I think the main reason it doesn't go on any more is that games are not really going on any more.

Yeah and that's for the reasons I cited IMHO

Love hu limit. Can't find any action , I'm a Rec player and won't sit at a table bum hunting however any time I get action the other player sits out 10 hands later and says gg. If I want to play am I ping to have to sit and wait ? Is there any action in doing so ?
