The format of heads up sit & gos gets annoying after a while plus I tend to tilt more due to the inevitable losing streaks.
Do you get more losing streaks in HU SNGs? I remember I liked these because people who sat in were often very bad, but when you play someone with a clue they're not so good, because especially at Pokerstars you can spend an hour playing with low blinds with little consequence and then the match is decided in a few hands when the blinds get high enough, and yes, that can be very tilting.

Re: Unbeatable rake

One thing I've thought about more after my little excursion into the world of NLH HU SnGs is that there isn't a lot of information out there on the HU LHE SnG end game. I used to think you should play the high blinds pretty much the same, but I no longer think this is true.

For one thing, your opponent's strategy often changes when the blinds are high. I'm sure you guys have seen where someone really tightens up because they want the chips to go in with a good hand, for example. OTOH, it's been a long time since I've seen this but when I started out on Stars there were guys who would play TAG until the blinds were high and then all of a sudden just spaz out.

There are also guys who don't fold the bb very often if at all but you can outplay them postflop. If you have the right guy, I think there's an argument for opening up a limping range after a certain blind level.

All of the above is just talking about adjusting to your opponent, I guess, but I think you can go further with it. Since nobody good actually continues playing the SnGs long enough for it to happen, I don't think all of these situations have ever been adequately explored. As a starting point, take a concept like effective stacks and think about whether or not it's applicable in LHE. I think maybe it is but I haven't spent enough time thinking about this stuff, either. Does your positional advantage mean as much when the blinds are high? In NL there's actually a point where the BB has the advantage. Does this happen in LHE as well? Even though there's no push/fold scenario like in NL, most people realize that at some point the chips are just going to have to go in regardless of the flop. How do you decide when you've reached that point? NLH guys have this stuff down to a science. I think most LHE players are winging it.

Anyway, if you think the losing streaks are bad when you have an ROI of > 10%, think about the NLH ST player who has an ROI of about 2%.

By the way, I think LHE SnG players should prefer the fastest structure they can find. Same as in the NLH games, you get the highest hourly that way. FTP was the nuts.
