No, it's not about Vegas - she actually supports poker (at least recently). She just doesn't want me out for the weekend, no matter where. Too hard to handle kids alone... Which I agree to understand.

Haven't heard from Nate, but I did get to meet the great Bellatrix last week, and we splashed around in a 20/40 at Bellagio.

Highlights:

She turned over 53 for two pair against a button steal that went to showdown and had a reg steaming and mumbling to himself for the next orbit.

I check-raised the legendary and very kind Cyndy Violette and beat her, even though I bet the river like a donkey. (I fumbled $20, instead of the requisite $40, into the pot when the fourth spade hit and I had 8s9s. She probably called because I looked so weak.)

Bellatrix soul read me and snap-folded a flop after I had three-bet her pre w/AA.

Some clown called three cold with JT and beat my AQ, but I scooped a much bigger pot off him two hands later with 77.

One of the dealers perfectly divided a $400 pot by eyeing the chips and slamming his forearm down the middle, a la a tomahawk chop. (I tipped him a dollar because I was so impressed.)

Actual exchange between me and Bellatrix at the table:

Her: I had 72o.
Me: I thought 72 was in your range.
Her: What's range?
Me: You're wearing a Deuces Cracked hoodie!

Both Bellatrix and I made manies in the game.

No I decided no vacation for a few weeks cause we're buying a house and the escrow is getting a little sticky.

Hey Random, there's an old guy named Nolan who lives near me but spends about a week a month in Vegas playing the 20 and 40 (usually 40 I think). He's a regular in the game I play in locally. He acts grumpy but he's really a pretty good guy. Always giving us trip reports from the Strip clubs or nana massage parlors.

He's about 65, walks with a cane, and wears a hat that looks like he just pulled it out from under the cushions of the couch. If you see him, tell him Nate says hello.

Yeah, we are also in the process of buying a house. Did not find anything yet though so no escrow... Looks like the crisis didn't hit north county san diego, sellers are stubborn about asking prices....
