Re: ****Official HUHU NC/LC Thread for 2012****
In 200k tournaments, a 15 tournament win streak seems pretty likely.
My post was way nicer than your post should have expected. Now you're sad that I was mean to you. You've won poker. gg you. Plus, you can play on Stars. That's two sick brags. If you post pics of your awesome dog, you'll be 3 for 3. Add in a solid 8 for a GF (or BF) and you pretty much crush anyone on 2+2. Sick graph + plays on Stars + great dog + hot significant other = top rank poster. I'm rooting for you.

Re: ****Official HUHU NC/LC Thread for 2012****
Thinking of moving abroad to get back into the fold of hulhe.
What is up with all these euro sites that have a $1 rake cap for HUHU?
party, 888, ongame, possibly others all have the $1 rake. I mean I guess 10/20+ is beatable if you super bumhunt with high rakeback, but I used to enjoy playing people that weren't total droolers too.

Re: ****Official HUHU NC/LC Thread for 2012****
1) Stars HUSNGs were always the softest. The really low stakes games are ridic easy to beat. The slow structure also makes it easier to secure a high ROI. One thing it took me awhile to understand, however, is that faster structures are actually more profitable -- your ROI drops but your ability to play more matches results in a higher hourly wr. FTP was the nutz.
2) Brags over results from smallish samples are silly. Sometimes the responses may seem harsh to people who aren't used to the culture here, but guys who have been around as long as DougL have seen these same posts 1000s of times. Not only are they uninteresting but they show a lack of understanding wrt to how long the long run really is. From my own experience, I played over 4000 HUSnGs before I really hit my first stretch of run bad.
3) I know for sure I had 20+ game winning streaks more than once. What's more interesting is how you handle yourself when you're trying to play full time and you lose 10 or more in a row, or when you play 100+ matches per week and run b/e or worse for 2 weeks or more.
4) At least he posted in the right thread.
5) I considered lots of options including trying to grind live and moving to Canada. In the end, I took up regular work again -- admittedly in part because I wasn't playing enough post-BF to live off my winnings anyway. It's taken me a long time to learn this about myself, but I really prefer having poker as a hobby. There's a reason they call it a grind.

Although I don't think he's really out of line, as shown it wasn't a particularly extraordinary brag. Second pic much more impressive.

Re: ****Official HUHU NC/LC Thread for 2012****
Hi! I wanted to ask to Stars huhu regulars about the table selection culture if its not a big market secret.
I don't feel very strong at huhu and my main game is FLH 6-max but I try to play some huhu game time to time, so I could get better experience in blind battles etc.
So what I see when I open lobby and filter for HU tables - I see all these players sitting by themselves. A lot of them I recognize as solid players whom I have met at 6max tables, but a lot of them are total unknowns for me.
I am aware of the bum-hunting and small edges etc, but my question is - should I assume that unknown player sitting alone at, for example, 3/6 huhu table is solid player or bum-hunter who will reject action as soon he discovers that his opponent have some clue about the game?
Do you assume that? or you try them out as soon as you do not recognize his name?

At 3-6, maybe 80% are solid who might play you, 20% mediocre who won't play you.
Very occassionally you can join a poorer player and they actually give action, but basically it's not going to happen

If you want to play a solid player, sit someone waiting For a SnG. They cant quit.

So I really like hu limit. I can't get any action. Every time I get a session the villain quits. Seems like I can only get action at 10/20 which is too high for me. So if I sit at a table like every other bum hunter (no offense) will I get action. I mean is there any action at the lower limits ? Or should I give up trying these games . Thanks

Thanks as well. Its not like I'm super eager to find action against solid players, more I was surprised how many unknown Russians and Germans i see there.
If its so hard to get action at hu and if they don't play 6max - where do they accumulate their skill (experience) and bankroll from?

Re: ****Official HUHU NC/LC Thread for 2012****
Hopefully given the tiny size of the community in this subforum, my posting history, and the fact that the point of this post isn't self-promotion, the following won't be viewed as spam.
I'm sure most of you guys have at least heard of skillbet by now. Once you have an account, one thing you can do is generate a sort of referral link that creates a freeroll between you and any new sign-up that accepts your challenge. Winner of the match gets $10. If anyone wants to play said freeroll versus me, my own link is listed in my profile.
Note: If you sign up without following such a link, you can still create your own freeroll challenges but you miss out on the opportunity to play the first one versus an existing opponent.

Reason: decided post is more likely to stand if link is not in post body

Re: ****Official HUHU NC/LC Thread for 2012****
Finally got to play my first one just now. Crushed my human opponent, too, which made it especially fun. I did enjoy it, will prolly try to grind up the $10 and I have a dwolla deposit enroute either way.
