Just started playing almost exclusively heads up again. Can't remember why I ever stopped in the first place. Probably something stupid about VPPs.

Last night, I dreamt I was wandering around a party with a handful of chips and a wad of cash.

Everyone was drinking and having fun, and I was looking for someone to play 5/T HUHU.

There was a hot European brunette showing half her cleavage who limped too much, and I took all her money.

There was a drunk Asian who spewed his 20BB stack calling me down with queen high over and over again.

And then I battled with a mad Ukranian man. He accidentally exposed his cards, Qc6s. I looked down at Jd9d. I check-called a two-diamond flop when he hit two pair, and check-raised my turned flush. The river bricked, and a raising war broke out.

"I've got him! I've got him!" I thought to myself.

Four bets, five bets, six bets, seven, eight, nine. No cap!

He reached into his pocket and pulled out more cash.

How could he not know?

I piled on the raises until his pockets were empty.

I flipped my hand over proudly, but somehow the cards had changed.

I didn't have the flush. I had nothing. I searched frantically in futility for those diamonds.

I could play HUHU no more.

For me, the party was over.

I played no cap for the first time ever on one of the btc sites. I didn't even really know it was no cap until I rivered a straight flush against the nut flush (4 flush texture, no pairing cards). It was a lot of fun watching all the chips go in, but kind of disappointing when he finally just called one of my raises w/ maybe 50 big bets behind (we'd both bought in for 100 big bets). Still, way more bets than I would have won on a capped site.

Moral of the story is run better obv.

I recognized Sect7G's screen name right away but it took me awhile to remember how I knew it. I had a laugh when it hit me:

When he first started posting on 4, he authored a bunch of pedantic posts in the micros forum on stuff like "the value of protecting your hand" or w/e and got flamed pretty hard.

I actually think he was a decent winner even then and iirc his posts weren't really that bad outside of the fact that he was some unknown trying to come off like he was the second coming of Ed Miller.

Anyway, this isn't to take anything away from him as a potential candidate or really even to say anything bad about him. It was just kind of funny thinking back on it.

afaiunderstand the changes don't affect huhu. unless they worsen the rake structure.

regarding sect7g: the guy has his own ideas about poker. but who cares, he wins money. that's all that matters.

How so? Can't be too crazy if he can b-e grind small-mid stakes FL and win NL SnGs, respect to anyone who achieves either these days.

And yeh it's not too HUHU applicable but fwiw Hood gets my vote for all round and all issues knowledge. And I'm a big fan of pokerfuse
