I've heard multiple people say it's been solved but I can't find any links anywhere.

Cepheus will crush your dreams. It's really only 99.9999999999% solved. Rounded down of course.

they will never "solve" a game of poker. If 2 opponents are constantly adjusting Play style then what is there to solve?

There exists a strategy where no counter strategy is effective. That's Game Theory Optimal. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell me I'm technically wrong, but that is my understanding of it.

No, that's basically it.

Like if I were to play Rock Paper Scissors, I could play 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 and you would not be able to find a strategy that beats me. Of course, this is a simple case where no matter what counter strategy you choose, your expectation is 0.

But if you deviate from 1/3, 1/3, 1/3, you become exploitable. So say you become 0.4, 0.4, 0.2 for R, P, S. if I adopt a 0, 1, 0, I'll net 0.2 units per game.

What Cepheus has effectively done is converged on the strategy that is [1/3, 1/3, 1/3]. Impossible to beat in the long run.

Yup. The only exception to the above will be associated with positive sum games.

As a practical matter, though, this is only a problem if everyone in your player pool plays perfectly, or at least so close that no one can beat the rake. That's certainly not anywhere close to true of public B&M mid stakes full ring lhe games. But this is a HU forum, and HU is rare live. I don't know how beatable online HU games are. Anyone know?

The bryce put it best in a video once when he said "if I can't figure out why I'm supposed to be beating someone, then I'm probably not."

Fact is that it's really hard to play like Cepheus and almost every OL opponent has inherent weaknesses in their game. It's on you to figure out what they are and how to exploit them.

But on your direct question, the answer is "it depends". Most guys willing to play HU are more aggressive than average even in full games, so it's rare to find the nit that lets himself get run over or the fish who calls a ton and never puts in aggression without a strong hand. It's beatable if you study everything and analyze every showdown.

Imo it's all about breaking even vs decent players and waiting patiently for a maniac.
